of four year terms. The Administrative Assistant will be a Board Member. One of these members will be elected annually. The base year is 2000. As Chapters are established, the President of each Chapter will become a member of the National Board of Directors. The initial Officers will begin replacement elections beginning in the year 2000, and no more than (one) Officer will change in any one year.

Section 9.

The election of officers shall be held by balloting at the annual General business meeting when the elected officer's terms expire. If there is but one candidate for any office, the ballot for the office may be dispensed with and the election may be held by voice vote. Current officers will serve until the year 2000, when the first elections will be held.

Section 10.

Nominations for officers shall be made by a nominating committee of three members appointed by the President at the annual business meeting. The consent of each candidate must be obtained before the name is placed in the nomination.

Section 11.

Installation of officers shall take place at the beginning of the Board of Directors meeting following the convention banquet. Newly elected officers will be sworn in; the Oath of Office will be given by the current President or Vice President.

Section 12.

Vacancy of any office shall be filled by a Presidential Appointment and shall be ratified by the Board of Directors.
 
 

ARTICLE VI

DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 1.

The President shall preside at all general business meetings, meetings of the Board of Directors and all official functions of the Association. The President shall appoint the Chairperson of all standing committees, except the Membership Committee Chairperson, with ratification of the Board of Directors. The President shall represent the Association in all matters concerning the good of the order. The current President is considered a member in good standing of all Chapters of the Association.

Section 2.

The Vice President shall act as an aide and advisor to the President and shall be kept informed on all matters concerning the office of President and shall perform the duties of the President in his absence. The Vice President is the Chairperson of the Membership committee.
