Model
Train Expo

The Model Train EXPO at
The sHOw Modular Model
Railroad will be returning to
the Institute for Economic
Development on Nashville
Road in Bowling Green with a
Model Train EXPO on Friday
May 9, 8:00 A.M. to 2;00 P.M.;
Saturday May 10, 10:00 A.M.
to 4:00 P.M.;Sunday May 11,
1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.;Monday
May 12, 8:00 A.M. to 2;00 P.M.
Again, Bowling Green and
Warren County schools will be
busing in visitors on Friday
and Monday. Saturday and
Sunday are open to the public.
Operation Pride will have a
presentaition and display on
the restoration of the L & N
Depot and Operation
Lifesaver will conduct its
program. We anticipate 2000
visitors this year. Mark your
calendars for we need all
members to assist in this big
project. Commitments for
modules should be made as
soon as possible so we can
plan the layout.

Next Model
Train EXPO
Set for July

The next sHOw Model Train
EXPO is scheduled for July
12th through the 25th 1997 at
the Kentucky Museum on the
campus of Western Kentucky
University. The trains will be
operating on Saturday the
12th andd 19th and Sunday
the 13th and 20th. Hours are
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on
Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission on Sundays is free.
Other days the fee is $2.00 for
adults,$1.00 for a child or $5.00 for a family pass.
APRIL ORDERS
DUE FOR GROUP
PURCHASES OF
MODEL
RAILROADING

The club will place group
purchase orders for model
railroading supplies. Flyers
and catalogs will be at 710
College and David Boyd will
coordinate the orders.
Deadline for the first order
is the May 2rd club meeting.
July, October and January
are the other months when
we will order. Be sure to
check out the specials and
place your orders.

Minutes
The business meeting met April 5th, 1997 at
Butler Motors, president Paul Jones
presiding. Revised standards have
been printed in 50 copies thanks to
Bruce Baggett who had volunteered to
have them printed. Paul Jones
reported the sHOw Club history book
has been received at the club
headquarters, The treasury has a
balance of$271.85. Vinylbed is in
stock for the club. The club has
constructed modules fro new members
and kits for sale to new members
wishing to purchase the components.
David Boyd will inquire about
working with scouts on the BRIMS
project. Paul Schnoes reported on the
progress of the restoration or the L &
N Depot. The outside is done and
work on the interior will begin soon.
He will check about L & N retired
employees assisting with hosting the
EXPO's. A work and play schedule for
club members for the May Model
Train EXPO is attached to this
newsletter. Please fill out and return
by the May 3rd meeting. Future
EXPO's at the Kentucky Museum and
at Park City and Auburn, Kentucky
were discussed. New member Vernon Hadden was introduced.
