RESERVE PERSONNEL

RESERVE ROLE
The Coast Guard and Navy Reserves are an extremely valuable part of Station Burlington. Reserve personnel augment station personnel and make time available for special law enforcement and training activities. The reserves recieve training at the station and participate in law enforcement activities and search and rescue cases as watchstanders, crew members, engineers and coxswains on boat crews. The Reserve personnel are organized into 4 sections and train on weekends at the station as well as perform active duty time during the year.

COAST GUARD AUXILIARY

There is also a Coast Guard Auxiliary unit that meets at Station Burlington and works in the Lake Champlain area. Coast Guard Auxiliary activities include conducting boating safety classes, courtesy safety inspections of boats, responding to requests for assistance, and acting as a liason with the public as well as helping with community activities.
