Mountaineering

Pietrosu 2000 It takes two long days just to reach the peak. One has to stop half way on the ascent and spend the night somewhere. One can only conquer it after 12 hours of hard climbing, carrying heavy backpacks and a lot of provisions. The weather could vary from scorching heat to -35 degrees C in a matter of a few hours. On top, the wind is strong enough to push a grown man into the abyss. It's called Pietrosu (The Rocky One), and it's the highest peak of the Caliman mountain ranges, in Northern Romania. |

Pietrosu 2000
Although an expedition to Pietrosu neccesitates weeks of physical training, lots of equipment, food and a well-prepared team, I am definitely going there again.
