August 14th, 1998, 0645 hrs...as the waves crashed onto the beach the reach of the water crept up the sand around the feet of 'hedgehogs' placed strategically on the beach head, before the water subsided to continue on its endless cycle.

Charging inshore were a fleet of landing craft loaded with scared, young but focused soldiers who were unbeknownst to themselves about to walk into the jaws of death.

As the front flap of the craft dropped hundreds of men charged the beach of Co. Wicklow, Ireland. These 600 brave souls represented the norm of the Forsa Cosanta Aitiuil, the Irish army Reserves, drawn from all over the country, but predominitely from the Southern Batallions the men were united in one mission...to enjoy their 15 minutes of fame, STARRING in Steven Spielbergs new epic, Saving Some Ryan Bloke...

Check out these two Saving Private Ryan Sites, they're are close as you will get to official SPR sites. Disappointingly there is no solid references to the FCA and their involvement in the film.
