Post 359 has had a long history of providing aid to children’s assistance organizations and charities, and to assisting needy veterans in the St. Joseph area since it became chartered on January 24, 1946.  The Post plans to continue or expand on those programs as much as possible for the coming year.

In addition, Post 359 will mount an intensive membership campaign for

the 2000-2001 program year, according to Commander Richards.

“I realize that, because of personal responsibilities, every veteran cannot be

active in The American Legion.” Commander Richards said. “However, active or not,

members can become involved in the work of the Legion here in

St. Joseph, and at the state and national levels through their American

Legion membership.”
