Another royal trip to the vet, this time to be weighed (26 pounds) and to receive his rabies vaccination.

King Peppa made his first royal visit to the dog park nearest the castle. Although he liked being in the big open spaces, he didn't think too highly of the other dogs around and didn't deign to play with them. His regents were concerned that he wasn't a kind and friendly enough king.

March 26, 2003

Peppa was gradually beginning to look like the polar bear king, so his regents decided that it was time he paid his first visit to the royal barber.

March 29, 2003

The poodle king's regents had a large party to celebrate the arrival of King Peppa and the official opening of Crate Castle. Early on the king mingled well with his subjects and awed them with his fuzziness, but later on some unruly guests caused the king to become angry. His regents decided to have the king return to his royal chambers rather than risk the king showing his full wrath.

April 27, 2003

Even a king needs to learn his manners, and so on this day King Peppa began taking obedience lessons. At first he became annoyed that the other dogs in the class were receiving more attention than him, but gradually he came to respect the teacher. Peppa also met his greatest rival, Cosmo the herding dog.

May 21, 2003

This was truly the darkest day in the life of the young poodle king. Today King Peppa had to be altered. Although his regents felt very bad about it, they realized that he would be better off in the future. This was the first time that the king had spent the night without his regents since he came to Crate Castle, and he was very sad and stressed out. His stress made his tummy hurt, and he made a mess, which made him even sadder. But luckily his regents arrived to take him home, and showered him with love and affection, and he soon forgot his sadness. (37 pounds)
