Current Project(s)

Monogram 1/48 F/A-18C

I'm currently building two of the Monogram F/A-18's.  I'm doing an original "F-18" which will be in the prototype colors while the other will be the Canadian RCAF 410 Squadron 50th Anniversary CF-18.

A cockpit view of the older F-18 kit.  Notice the spaces on each side of the cockpit.  This is the dead give-a-way to the age of the kit.
A cockpit view of the newer F/A-18 kit.  Notice that the fairing on each side of the cockpit is closed and that I also removed the fairing bumps behind the cockpit.

This bird is going to be the RCAF 50th Anniversary bird.

A bottom view of the newer kit with the wheel wells already painted white.
A number of the parts for both planes, already painted white.
The decal sheets for the above planes.  The left is the Arrow Graphics sheet for the RCAF 50th Anniversary while the right is the original Monogram prototype markings.

Hasegawa 1/72 CP-140 Aurora

The major kit components for this older, but decent kit.  There's practically no interior detail, with only the cockpit containing an pieces however the overall look and feel of the model is bang on.

Notice that there are small electric motors by the engine nacelles.  Yup, this is going to be an in-flight model with the engines turning.  Cool eh?  I envision the model mounted above an ocean base in a steep bank.

Italeri 1/48 Twin Huey's

Well, I started these thinking I'd have them done right away.  Right.  :-)

Well, I decided to wait until I had the Eduard Photo-etch sets and then I realized that in order to mount the 30 tie-down points in the cabin, I needed a pin vise.  Well, I now have the pin vise but I haven't got back to the kit.  :-)

I'm building one kit as a Canadian CH-135 Twin Huey and the other as a Canadian CH-146 Griffon.  The Griffon is essentially a Bell 414 with a number of Canadian specific modifications.

This is the Belcher Bits conversion set to convert the Italeri Twin Huey into a Canadian Griffon.  Follow the link to a review by Steve Bamford of Aircraft Resource Center.
