26 MARCH 2003--11:15 PM CST--Yes, It's been over a month since my last entry. Well, I've been trying to avoid everyone and everything because of this whole war shit going on. That and Geocities has told me that if I want to use the nifty little "Publish Web" feature on Front Page, I have to pay a monthly fee. Screw that. Now, time for the things you all wanted to know. For the record, I'm Pro Troops, Anti Bush, Anti Iraq, Anti War, Anti Television News (ESPECIALLY ANY NETWORK OWNED BY AOLTW, GENERAL ELECTRIC, VIACOM, DISNEY, OR NEWS CORP.), and Anti-Flag and Michael Moore are right. Speaking of Michael Moore, it's actually nice to see him with an Oscar (TM). It's nice that the only 2 movies I saw that were nominated won (B.F.C. and Spirited Away). Latest Bedroom Update--Next! Absolutely no progress has been made since I put the update on the Bedroom Renovation page. I so wish I had a decent paying job so I can get the hell out. I'm still stuck at the 'Berg. It's went from tolerable to shit to "fucking kill me" in the course of about 2 months. We get rid of one of the worst managers I've ever worked with (and I worked with some pretty bad ones over the course of 5+ years) and the situation goes from bad to worse. Last entry says I lost 25 pounds. Guess what? Thanks to the stress in my life and the bad weather, I put those 25 pounds I lost back on. Maybe as summer goes on and I start taking my Prozac (TM) again, a weight loss regiment might actually work. One last thing--Hell has officially frozen over because I decided to buy a cell phone. If I think you're deserving of the number, I'll give it but don't beg. That's about it for now.
PS. AOLTW is CNN, GE is NBC & MSNBC, Viacom is CBS & MTV, Disney is ABC, and News is Fox so basically what I'm saying is that all American news is bullshit. Watch BBC America for REAL news.
17 FEBRUARY 2003--9:45 PM CST--It's been about a month since I put anything
interesting in this diary so I figured I might as well say hi. Well, it
looks like we're going to war. So much for it being better year than 2002.
There is still rumors that if we do go to war, they'll start the draft again.
If this is true and they do it AFTER July 26, I'm OK. Before, I'm fucked.
Next subject--I did my first weigh-in two weeks ago. I lost 25 pounds.
I have a feeling I've put some of it back on since then but I won't know for
sure until the end of the month. Bedroom Update--I MIGHT have it done by
the end of March. I'll keep it posted.
Why is it that when the weather outside sucks, people lose half of their
intelligence automatically? Not just in driving, but in everything.
About a week ago, I went to Mississippi Nights to see Homegrown and Riddlin Kids
(not a bad show, but that's not the subject at hand) and they for some reason
only had one set of doors open. I stood in line there for about a half an
hour trying to get in. It was about 20 degrees F. I was the only
person wearing a proper winter coat. No one else had as much as a jacket
on. I spent that half an hour listening to people complain about how cold
it was outside. See my point. This weekend, it snowed. I spent
the weekend hearing soccer moms complain about why their poor little brats had
to stand outside in the snow while they wait for tickets. Visibility was
crap. No one should have been driving. It took me 45 minutes to get
to work when normally it takes 15. All weather people on TV and radio said
stay home. If you're that bored and you're so sick of your kids, I have
three words for you: Tylenol with Codeine. Give the little fuckers
some of that, let them sleep, and screw your husband to the point where you end
up popping out a couple more brats---or on second thought, DON'T. We don't
need any more of your brats.
11 JANUARY 2003--10:20 PM CST--I'm alive. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. There is an update on the bedroom renovation. Click here and then click the button on top. That's it for now.
31 DECEMBER 2002--1:35 PM CST--This will be my final diary entry for 2002. I got the 2002 Year in Review done and published. Other than that, all I have to say is I hope 2003 ends up even 10% better than 2002. I have to go to work tonight so hopefully I won't be killed by a drunk driver. If there isn't another entry in the diary between now and 1 February, consider myself dead. Happy New Year and drink one for me
23 DECEMBER 2002 3:15 PM CST--This is my only day off since finals ended and will probably be my last day off of 2002. I figured I'd at least say hi. Just found out about Joe Strummer. Why are all the legends going soon and yet we're still stuck with Fred Durst? At least it was a natural cause unlike with, say, JMJ. Anywho, RIP Joe. Next subject--I'm working on my best/worst of 2002 exhibit and will probably be on before MLK weekend. I have to go now. Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Un-Birthday, and please drink one for me because I'll be at work. Again. Two New Year's resolutions---lose at least 100 pounds and FIND A NEW JOB!!!!!
8 DECEMBER 2002 8:00 PM CST--See, I told you the holidays were hell for me. I'm back. Here's a Tour of Duty DVD update--THEY PUSHED IT BACK TO MARCH! Amazon waited 3 weeks to tell me this. Took this weekend off to study for finals and because I didn't want to work the canned food drive at my work. This day sucks at work. These people come in with their canned goods and expect to be treated like they rented the entire place out. These are the same people that a week later will just go back to the Salvation Army to retrieve their cans again in their handouts. It's sad. Last year was so bad that I lost my Local H beanie. Speaking of Local H, the show two nights ago at the Galaxy was FUCKING SWEET!!!!!!! They played new songs, like one called "Buffalo Trace," that I've been trying to get as an MP3 ever since. Great set, only disappointed that there was no "Creature Comforted." I got a stick from Brian. Let's see, that's a stick from Joe, a stick from Brian, two of Scott's picks, a signed poster from Scott, and a drum head from Brian. All my collection needs is blood and hair samples. Another notable concert was the Mighty Mighty Bosstones on Thanksgiving night. Dickey's back in top form. Here's a note: Turkey and Newcastle don't mix. Good News--I might have most of a bedroom before New Year's. Electricity is hooked up. The new hallway needs interior drywall. The drywall that's already up needs sanded (from mudding) and painted. The closet needs done. That's it from here. I need to study for finals that I'll probably fail but I'm getting an A in both of my classes to this point so if I fail the final, I'll still pass the class. One last thing--real marzipan is expensive. Nine pieces about the size of big Atomic War Heads for $5.00. I don't know how much Homestar Runner's Marzipan costs but probably too much. Talktayalater.
19 NOVEMBER 2002 9:40 PM CST--Did you know that the Casey's General Store gas station chain sells Ammo? It's under the cigarettes. I just noticed it yesterday when I got gas. Another thing that I'd like you to know is that I waited a long time for the Kids in the Hall Tour of Duty DVD only to find out that you had to order it from the store's websites. I with I had known this a while back. I had to break down and use Amazon. They say it will be here before Christmas. That will be a long wait.
16 NOVEMBER 2002 8:35 PM CST--Sorry it's been 2 weeks since my last entry (that sounds really weird coming from the guy who takes almost a year to update this page to begin with). I've been very busy. I might not have another update until after Thanksgiving considering I will only have 1 day off from both school and work between then. Work sucks. I was there from 5 pm to 2 am on Thursday, went home to do the 4 s's (that's Shower, Shine, Shit, and Shoot (as in a load) for those of you who aren't military) and then went back there for nine hours of hell, came home at 4:30 pm, and slept until 7:45 am Saturday. That's how much time I've had. The St. Clair 10 re-opened and, to no surprise, still is doing absolutely no business. Gee, I wonder if that has to do with the fact that (a) they gave us and them FOUR screens of it, (b) they are all the EXACT SAME TIMES, and (c) we have been selling tickets for over a month and they couldn't start selling until yesterday. If that doesn't change by next weekend, I will officially be saying that all of this was too little, too late. I'm currently listening to Lewis Black's White Album and I recommend everyone with broadband go out to kazaa and get it. Local H will be at the Galaxy in 2 weeks and it will be the 5th time in a little over a year I'll have seen them. November 2001 Blue Note, Columbia, MO. March 2002 Galaxy St. Louis. May 2002 Point Fest St. Louis (they played "What Would you have me do?" the full version for 3/4 of their 30 minute set). September 2002 Copper Dragon, Carbondale, IL. And then this one will be 5. Carbondale probably was their best set but March Galaxy was the best time overall. Bosstones on Thanksgiving night is also on the agenda. Seen them twice and they rocked both times. OK, I'm going to sleep now. mmmm...sleep.
3 NOVEMBER 2002 12:15 AM CST--If some of you don't know, my house, bedroom specifically, is undergoing a renovation. It has been really frustrating. For the last 2 hours or so I have been working on a page that demonstrates the full story. If you'd like to read it, click here. You might learn something important--renovations and family suck.
2 NOVEMBER 2002 8:30 PM CST--RIP JMJ. Everyone should be forced to see the movie Bowling For Columbine. Then they will understand that this was a pointless and thoughtless act. Yes, he died four days ago. I've been working non stop. I'm going drinking now.
26 OCTOBER 2002 11:10 PM CST--Yes, it's Saturday night and I'm home at the computer. That's what happens when you have a job that kills your social life. The rare times I am home, I don't do anything because the friends that I still have are working. Anywho, just spent some time, thanks to Vince C., at my new addiction Who To Kill. It's simple. Two people or things, real or otherwise, come up and you pick whom should be executed between the two. This is more addictive than heroin. I even started giving them more things. If you go to it and look under statistics and then the contributors, you'll see me as perdedor. That's who I put on in the past 2 hours tonight. I put the link on the mmm. Please kill me, or at least buy me a bottle of Makers. mmm...makers mark. Anybody want to lend me $20. We can split the bottle.
25 OCTOBER 2002 10:25 PM CST--If anyone has a spare ticket to the Ben Folds show at the St. Louis Pageant for his November 10 show, I'll pay $20 for it. Just Email me. I finally got the money Wednesday morning, went to Schnucks only to find out it was sold out. Now I'm pissed. You know what else I'm pissed about. This is my first weekend where I got off without using any vacation time in almost FIVE YEARS and I will be spending it putting up drywall so I can finally get my bedroom back. I have been without a bedroom since August 1 when my dad decided to match the roof line of our old house with the addition he built. Problem is that the part we had to tear out involved my bedroom. The first night we tore the roof off, it stormed and it tore the tarp off the room. It destroyed the drywall and the carpet but miraculously my entertainment center was spared. Ever since then, he has been trying to rebuild it but one thing or another delays it. If anyone ever saw the movie The Money Pit knows that this is how my house is turning out. I am currently writing this in my laundry/computer room because it's the only place I can get some form of privacy. Oh, well. I'm going now. Talktayalater.
21 OCTOBER 2002 9:30 PM CST--Does anyone have 128 kbps copy of the Chixdiggit version of "The Kid is Hot Tonight" from the FUBAR soundtrack? If anyone has one that they didn't get from me originally, please Email me. My copy sucks. Just wondering
15 OCTOBER 2002 9:15 PM CST--I have such a massive headache right now. I've had it ever since I walked into work. Mmmmmmm, maybe there's a connection. Have the lt here currently listening to Thursday's "Cross Out the Eyes." Got Musicmatch on Auto DJ. Trying to get my headache down and escape the reality around me. I hate stupid people. A lot of hotties out tonight. Problem is my life is like the line from Dazed and Confused that Matthew McConaughey (?) says about high school girls in that he gets older but they stay the same age. That's me right now. That's what happens when you are forced to hang around 16 year olds in order to make car payments. I wish this recession was over so I could get a good job. Oh, well. At least I have some Amber Bock at home and a day off tomorrow...
14 OCTOBER 2002 11:18 PM CST--Today was somewhat productive of a day off. Went to skool to work on a project with FrontPage and I realized that I need to buy a copy. Every computer at skool that has FP on it was taken. Just got back from seeing the movie Spirited Away. Excellent film. First it plays like a dumb Disney film and then it turns into this chick flick for chicks who like to do acid. Visually stunning and a lot easier to understand than Mononoke. Hopefully it won't take them 2 years to put this one on DVD (unlike Mononoke). That's it for today.
8 OCTOBER 2002 1:20 PM CST--I got out of my Accounting class an hour early so I decided to put the finishing touches on my webpage. You are seeing the end result now.
