Doily and Wire Ribbon Angels

By Doreen Scerri

For each angel you will Need

One half of a round 19cm (7 1/2") paper doily

One 10cm length of gold wire ribbon

One crystal or pearl bead

About 4cm of thin wire

Stapler

Any good bonding glue

Glitter glue (optional)

Shape your round half doily into a cone shape and secure at the back by stapling.

Make a U shape in your wire and thread through your bead - secure by  twisting together the two loose ends of the U shape - you can now take the secured bead held in place in the wired U shape and thread the twisted wire ends into the top part of the cone shape - glue in place.

Find the middle part of the wire ribbon and twist it into a butterfly shape by twisting the middle part once.  Glue to the back of the top part of the cone just below the bead.  Gently fold about 1cm at each end of the ribbon to finish off into the shape of wings.

You can decorate the angel's dress using glitter glue.

You can make the angels smaller by cutting off from the bottom  (wider part) of the doily skirt in order to make the size of the angel proportional to the size of the tree.
