Joselito was a boy singer from spain who was very popular in the late 50s
Joselito (José Jiménez
Fernandez) was born in Beas de Segura (Jaén, Spain), and was the youngest of seven brothers. He went
to a school run by Franciscan Monks who realized his talent and arranged for him to sing at local events.
It was at one of these that he was spotted by the film director Antonio del Amo Algara who thought he
might have potential in musicals. In the end he was to direct 9 of the 13 films Joselito made. The
first three films were the most sucessful. The first was called 'El Pequeño Ruiseñor' (1956), the
second 'Saeta del Ruiseñor' (1957) and the third 'El Ruiseñor de las Cumbres'
