California Gulch / Corkscrew Gulch
You will know that you are one the correct trail right away as you pass this hugh mine. Though I did not see any finces this must be open range land.
The trail becomes some what steep as you get close to California Pass. Make sure there are no Jeeps in front of you as you start up on you ATV or Motorcycle because them is not much room for you to pass them.
At the pass there is a small area to park and there are many photo opertunities of the surrounding mountains.
At Como Lake the trail splits once again. If you are not street leagal you will have to go to the right of the wrecked truck to keep from back tracking, go left to continue to Corkscrew Gulch.
Even if you are not street leagal I would recmomend continuing on the trail to the Red Mountain Area.
The Red Mountains are simular in apearance to Red Cone but the trail is easier and the mountains are much bigger.
If you notice the creek coming from the Red Mountain area you will see that it is the same color as the mountians.
The trail ends at Hwy 550 and there is a parking area there. If you are not street leagal this is the end of the line for you. If you are turn left to go to Black Bear Pass or turn right to go to Engineer Pass.
To see the next trail on the Alpine Loop click Engineer Pass
Black Bear Pass is also close by.
Directions: Take trail to the right as you come into Animal Forks.
