Italian Creek Road

Italian Creek Road would make a great base camp for People that want a large area to ride on but don't want to move
thier camp. Dorchester Campground is along Taylor River Road but most people were just camping along the road.

The trail starts in a large open area then goes through a wooded section with a gate, that must be opened and
closed, before the trail opens up at higher elevations.

All the white rocks laying around the area are from the glaciers that carver the valley. The rocks were
taken from the higher elevations and droped in the valley as the glaciers melted.

All of the trail past the fence is open range land so watch for cattle in the trail.

Besides being a great place to ride ATVs the area would be best for use by motorcycle since they can ride
all the single track trails know as Cement Creek. After you pass the second gate contiune straight to go back to Crested
Butte.

Directions: As Pearl pass Trail ends drive down the Paved road to the Express Creek Road on the right just
past Ashcroft Ghost Town. There is a few miles of paved road between the two trails so ATVs can't make the loop. It would
be best for ATVers to get to this area from the Tylor reservior side of Taylor Pass.
