PETRA'S  HISTORY

    Petra is one of the longest standing Christian music group around today and still one the 

    most popular to date. The members of Petra's various instrumentalists have changed 

    more times than the lead singers. Petra has actually gone through numerous guitar players, 

    bass players, keyboard players, and  drummers. Now I'm not going to claim that I really 

    have any kind of information on them, except for their latest drummer, Louie Weaver. 

    When I saw Louie at SonShine he was celebrating his 50th B-day and it did not go 

    unmentioned as there was a cake given to  him in the middle of the concert.

Okay, here's the thing. I don't have enough information to tell you all the members of Petra from the past and I figure if I can't get them all, I'll just give you information on the latest members.

Guitar Pete Orta		Petra's latest guitar player and a phenomenal soloist. Again, SonShine proved to me the talent that this man has and I hope to see him stay with the group for a long time!
Bass Lonnie Chapin		The man has been with Petra long enough to show great talent as the band's bass player.
Keyboard Trent Thompson		Probably one of the best keyboard players that I have seen in some time and is Petra's latest member. You'll find no mistakes in this man's playing!
Drums Louie Weaver		Louie has been with Petra even longer that John Schlitt and as mentioned earlier, he is getting up there in age. Of course seeing him up on stage, you'd never know it! He has a boundless amount of energy and is as much fun to watch as John himself!
