Easter

Easter as religious festivity is the model of symbolic rebirth of time and space. Once with the miracle of Lord's rebirth, people make sacrifices for the equilibrium and harmony of the community. This way people kill lambs and they prepare ritual food- Easter cake and sponge cake- and they paint the eggs red.

In the Easter night, at the church people light candles and takes them to their houses to bless their families. The custom of giving for charity eggs, Easter cake and sponge cake is very old. The egg stands for Universe as a generator of life. Romanians paint Easter eggs red and they decorate them, transforming this custom into an artistically and refined skill. People say that the Easter eggs shell brings beauty, health and plenty.

Paştele

Paştele, ca sărbătoare religioasă este modelul de renaştere simbolică a spaţiului şi timpului. Odată cu miracolul învierii Domnului, se fac sacrificii pentru echilibrul şi armonia comunităţii. Astfel se taie miei, se prepară alimente rituale ca: pască, colaci, cozonac şi se înroşesc ouă.

În noaptea de Paşte, la biserică se aprind lumânări, care apoi sunt aduse în case, pentru a primeni şi binecuvânta familia. Obiceiul de a da de pomană ouă, pască şi cozonac este foarte vechi. Oul simbolizează Universul, ca generator de viaţă. Românii înroşesc şi decorează ouă la Paşte, transformând acest obicei într-un meşteşug artistic rafinat.

Se spune că prin cojile sale, oul de Paşte aduce frumuseţe, sănătate şi belşug.
