Welcome to the students at
Scott Libby Elementary Phoenix
Arizona, USA
Dear Math Friends,

Hello!  We are 1st and 2nd graders.  We live in Arizona, U.S.A. Our school is 40 miles west of Phoenix.  Phoenix is the capital city of Arizona. Our school is Scott Libby Elementary.

We speak Spanish at home.  We are learning English at school.  It is hard to learn the new words!

Our neighborhood gets hot in the summer. It gets cold in the winter. We have frost on the grass in the morning 5 or 6 times in winter.

We live in a desert. It does not rain much. Our school has Project Preserve.  Bunnies, snakes, birds, frogs, fish, lizards, bugs and gophers live there.  A big tortoise lives there.  Desert flowers, palo verde trees, and cactuses grow there.  We learn about the desert there.

We can make a math collage.  We can ask our parents how they use math.  We can make a counting quilt about Project Preserve.

We are happy to write to you!

Your friends,
Manuel, Uriel, Cristina, Sixto, Grissely,
Aicitel, Hereberto, Sonia, Edgar, Rebecca
