Reflections on Our Math Activities PERU: Update on math activities from teachers Daisy, Lilia, and Yola

Primero quisiera pedirles disculpas, ya que el mensaje fue enviado, pero hoy verificamos y la informacion no fue enviado, por problemas tecnicos. Por lo cual les
estamos enviando nuevamente la informacion requerida.
 

1) Comentario acerca de las actividades

En navidad ellas tambien elaboraron tarjetas de navidad empleando simbologia matematica, los cuales se hicieron llegar a los coordinadores del proyecto.
Posterior a estas actividades las alumnas han estado recolectando periodicos para poder analizar tanto las imagenes que parecen en ellas asi como las editoriales.

Como se nos indico las alumnas tambien al ver que otros centros educativos elaboraron sus propias actividades relacionadas con las matematicas, se sintieron entusiasmadas y elaboraron una actividad denominada MI CUERPO Y LA MATEMATICA, el cual lo estan desarrollando en los meses de vacaciones que tenemos. Las diferentes actividades que han desarrollado las alumnas les han permitido a ellas conocer la importancia de la matematica y como esta se encuentra
relcionada con las diferentes areas que ellas desarrollan asi como en su vida diaria, ha despertado el interes de investigar y aprender a que por medio de ella pueden demostran y lograr un equilibrio en los problemas sociales.
 

2) Importancia

La actividad Mi cuerpo y la Matematica, nos permite ver la composicion interna y externa de nuestro cuerpo y como tener balanceado nuestra alimentacion, para ello empleamos la matematica para ver que cantidad de proteinas debemos consumir por dia, semana, etc; de cuantos huesos se encuentra conformado nuestro sistema oseo utilizamos numeros para expresarlo.

Solo pedirles disculpas por la tardanza, posteriormente estaremos enviando mas iformacion acerca de la actividad que estamos desarrollando. A pesar de que ya vaya a finalizar el proyecto nuestro anhelo es seguir comunicandos para poder intercambiar experiencias tanto con alumnos y docentes, poder intercambiar experiencias pedagogicas en cuanto a la ensenanza de la matematica sus dificultades y el como la podemos hacer mas facil, divertida para que el alumno se interese en ella y no tenga temor. Nos gustaria trabajar con una clase hermana.

1.  Observations regarding the activities:

The students have been doing the activities such as, making presentations, analyzing statistics related to social problems, analysis of the different mottos published in the different classrooms of the school and preparing statistics.

During Christmas the students also made Christmas cards using mathematical symbols which were sent to the coordinators of the project.  Before this the students also have been collecting newspapers to analyze the images and editorials that appear in them.

Having seen that other schools have thought up their own activities related to mathematics, the students were motivated and eager to make up an activity entitled: My Body and Mathematics.  This project is currently being worked on during the students' vacation.  The different activities that they have developed has permitted the students to see the importance of mathematics in their everyday lives and has awakened an interest to investigate and learn how mathematics can demonstrate and achieve an equilibrium in our social problems.

Again, we apologize for the tardiness of our response and later on we will be posting more information regarding our project as it develops. Even though the project will soon be ending our hope is that we can continue communicating and exchanging information with other students and teachers to exchange pedagogical ideas pertaining to the instruction of mathematics so that it is easier and more fun to teach.  We would like to have a sister class to continue our work.
