About Our Club

Formed in early 1995, the S.O.R.C. was given official club status with the CKC in July of 1996. Patterned after Rottweiler clubs in Germany, our purpose is to promote responsible ownership, breeding practices (measuring, grading, temperament testing) and training of this majestic animal.

Our Club meets year round, twice weekly (Wed. evening and Sat. afternoon) at our lighted training field and clubhouse in Hornby, Ontario (Mississauga/Oakville area). Schutzhund training composes the basic element that we use to assess the correct temperament and working structure of the breed. Only the most modern motivational training techniques are used.

Although the name of our club implies that it is for Rottweilers only, we welcome all working breeds.

The S.O.R.C. hosts a German style specialty (Sieger) show every labour day weekend in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake with Internationally recognized ADRK Breed Judges.

Our club currently has a membership of over 40 people. We boast a great social atmosphere reminiscent of the German dog clubs by supplying delicious food and drink to our members along with weekly barbecues.
