Cat Care
Cats need a lot less care than kittens, but they still need a daily care routine. Here are some needs that may be important for either longhair, or shorthair breeds.
Needs | What Type |
brush hair | longhair or shorthair, once/twice a week |
feed | Both, of course. |
attention | see above. |
baths | longhair should be bathed 6 times a year, shorthair 4 times a year |
brush teeth | if you would like to. |

Make sure you get yourself and your cat into a routine. Feed kitty at the same time every day if possible, and remeber to scoop out the box every day. Change the actual litter once a week.
I would encourage you to not let your cat wander outside. A cat can always be free to roam a backyard while wearing a harness and leash, most don't mind.
Cats like to eat plants. Make sure that if you have poisonous plants they are kept far out of reach or in another room the cat cannot access.
Nail Trimming: this should be done around once a month for kitty. You can buy a pair of clippers at a local pet store. When you clip, be sure you do not cut too high as this will hurt kitty and might make him bleed. You can tell where to clip by looking at the nail. Do not cut to close to or above the "quick" a little pink or on some cats black vessel that comes down the length of the nail.
