Raveen Kats
As you walk by the rocky
terrain at the end of the forest, a flash of white catches your eye at the side
of the sandy path. With further examination, you realize that it is Air
Raveen Kat. The cub is so tiny that, at first, you mistake the little ball
of fluff for a domestic kitten. He's navy eyes glitter with fascination
and a soft
rumble meets your ears and you notice the creature must be purring.
He cocks he's head at you, he appears
calm and cheerful. Flicking his ears forward he relaxes even more, eyes intent on your every
movement. Then he flexes he's paws and begins to pedal at the soft moss in
which he's lying on when you appear to do nothing to him. He's purrs grow, sounding like the loud hum of an air
pump vibrating on a wooden ledge.
You stare at him for a moment not sure what thing or if he
had parents near by. The runty cub appeared to be alone, so you reached
down to pick him up. On sight of the gigantic being venturing toward him,
the cub jumped to his feet and leaped onto low tree branches until he reached
eye level with this stranger.
You are surprised, however, when his purrs
never faltered nor did the twinkle in his eyes fade. He inched toward your
face and sniffed your hair. A moment later, he rubs his jaw against your
head as
the thundering purrs sounded in your venerable ears.
Then, he tested your shoulder with a gentle forepaw and
placed what little weight he had one it, curling his body around your neck as he
examined you. "Hiya, I'm Aruumai, but you can call me Aruu" the tiny cub says.
A voice from beyond the jumble of rocks calls, "Aruumai!" and
he snaps his head toward it. You feel him grow in excitement at the sound
of his keeper. Licking your forehead in a farewell, he jumped from around
your neck with shear grace. Disappearing a second later in the rocky crevices on the opposing side of the
sandy path. All that was left of your encounter with Aruu was a tiny paw
print in the sand, next to were you found him.
Walking down
the path for a few moments, you stumble onto a small sandy lane that was hidden
from view. There is a fork in the path, one that leads down to the center of the
forest and other that leads to a shining blue portal, that would open when
touched. Trying to figure out which way to go, you spot a small sign to the left
and read its contents.
"Take the left to the Dreaming Pond and
visit the raveeness whom lives there."
