A Nature Guide to PotO Actors

PotO actors are a rare, yet special breed. Their habitat is the theatre, and their flight patterns to and from their nesting ground are easy to discern. They are friendly by nature, but like any creature, can have an off-day once in awhile. That being said, there are a few rules that PotO watchers should be aware of when approaching these talented creatures.

1) Study your field guide (playbill) and make yourself familiar with individual actors' unique features and plumage. Many a novice PotO watcher has allowed an actor to slip right by because they neglected to recognize them.

2) Be calm. Although you may find it hard to surpress your giddiness, especially after seeing them in their natural habitat, try your best not to appear frantic. A phan in a frenzy is a sure way to make an actor wary and flee.

3) Be polite and courteous. Use soothing noises like "please" and thank you." Compliments are always a good idea, but don't slather it on. Insults are a definite no-no on all counts since word gets around and you just might end up being "blacklisted" by other actors. Acting companies are like families and they protect their own. Also, if the actor appears eager to fly off, allow them to. Do not take their brevity as a personal affront.

4) Bring your own writing utensil. And never bury them in items to put their markings on.
