Central Thailand
AMEX Thailand MICE Offers: Page 6: Central, West, Northeast Thailand
Central Thailand is famous for its historical sites such as the Ayuthaya Historical Park and the Sukhothai Historical Park, both of which are UN World Heritage Sites.
Pleasant river cruises on converted teak barges starting from Bangkok to Ayuthaya are among the most popular activities.

Another interesting alternative would be Hua Hin, a royal resort destination so called because it is a favourite destination for his majesty the King to visit. Both Hua Hin
and Cha-Am are beach destinations which are a calmer, quieter alternative to the loud and lively Pattaya and the Southern Thailand Island of Phuket.
Western Thailand
Western Thailand is home to Kanchanaburi, made famous in World War 2 and by the Hollywood motion picture, "Bridge Over River Kwai". Kanchanaburi, apart from being
a historical destination, is a popular ecotourism destination.

Kanchanaburi is today a historical attraction for veterans and relatives to World War
2 Veterans. But more than that, it is also a popular for its ecotourism activities such as
wh
ite water rafting, trips on bamboo rafts and over night stays on floating bamboo huts. More recently, Kanchanaburi has also been made famous by the Tiger Temple
(Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno) which were initially featured in the local media and recently featured in National Geographic and broadcast worldwide.
Northeast Thailand
The northeast is gateway to the mysterious and enchanting Greater Mekong Sub-Region ie; Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. Via the Friendship Bridge which
connects Thailand directly into Laos. Access to these Mekhong countries, with exception to Myanmar, is possible only through Thailand as application for entry into these
countries (visas) can only be made in the Thai Kingdom.
