Most of the werewolf legends that are more well known, due to Hollywood movie propaganda, are the legends of the cursed werewolf. Also known as the Demon Wulf, and the Hell Hound. Theses werewolves are typically under some form of curse, bestowed in different ways, by some form of demonic influence. It is this particular were type, that I will be addressing here. I am no authority on weres and their different types.
What I am presenting here in, is what I have gathered from "arm chair", and net surfing studies. I am therefore presenting an informed opinion on the subject, here on this page.
Any offense to any of the presented werewolf types presented here, is purely unintentional, and if you a view, or opinion that you would like to be presented, please speak up about it. Please email me and leave me an email address to contact you with.

The curse of the werewolf comes in a variety of forms, as I have mentioned above. All variances upon the cursed, from what I have been able to study, come from some form of demonic or "Devil" bestowment. I say "Devil", due to the fact that there are a great many devils who are not presented to the more mundane student of lycanthropy. These creatures are instead, only mentioned in more mystical texts that are often often studied by more advanced magus apprentices. Such as those who study such books as the Necronomicon, and the Key of Solomon. A rather hard to get a hold of mystical text, although the Necronomicon, and it's counterpart, the Necronomicon spell book, can be found in any book store that carries any form of "New Age" books.
It is unfortunate that it is so hard to get a hold of the church texts that were kept on the curse of the werewolf. of course, at that time, there was no need for it, and since very few would even feel comfortable asking about such religious lore, even in this day and age. We quite probably will never see any of the priest's ledgers on such accounts.

 The curse of the werewolf

What are the forms of the werewolf curse?.

I have heard that all curses have their basis in some form of pact with an evil entity of some sort. that seems to be the truth of the original cursed werewolf. The forms that the curse takes, are listed below.

The Bitten Werewolf.

Thanks to Hollywood, is probably the most well known of all the myths surrounding the cursed werewolf. The curse is transferred by bite, and the beast can be only killed by blessed silver. Although I have also heard of some tales, whereby you have to kill the beast the same way that you would kill a vampire. Only you have to stake them with a silver stake, and behead them, then burn them and scatter their ashes, although this is one of the less well known of the werewolf myths, as I understand them.
There is also the more well known myths of the turning bite, whereupon the werewolf is killed by silver alone. Although if you do not burn the beast, you will be in deep trouble, because if the silver comes out, the beast regenerates and comes back for vengeance!

The child of the cursed werewolf or offspring of a demonic union

This creature is normally born as a werewolf. There is normally due to the fact that some where along the line, a union with a demonic influence occurred. Such as impregnation, or perhaps even, two cursed werewolves mated ant the female gave birth to a child. These children are often immortal and are the ultimate killing machines, concerned with all forms of killing and do so without remorse, or any form of emotion except unbridled rage. They can normally be killed with silver in any form, although the preferred method is of course, with blessed silver. The most effective appears to be a knife, or some sort of silver sword, and of course is more effective in the hands of a skilled person, than in the hands of an inexperienced person.
Of course the body should be burned and disposed of, and of course the ashes should be scattered on the wind or dumped into a running water source of some sort. So that the beast cannot return to life.

The Witch's Curse

Perhaps the most dangerous form of lycanthropy and one of the least discussed by Hollywood, although if you look at any 1960's literature on witches, you will find many unfounded accusations there. I say unfounded, because of the fact that I have as of yet, found no evidence to prove them right.
The evidence that I have found, refers to spells of transformation. Some include the use of wolf-skins, some include drinking water from a wolf paw print beneath a full moon, or some form of black strega curse upon an offender in some way. These curses can be removed through magick ritual, or some form of and unfortunately, death. Again, the body should be burned and the ashes scattered some how, so that the beast does not return to lay waste across the countryside, seeking revenge.

The Possessed Werewolf

Perhaps the most hopeful, if you can say that, of all curses.
For to get rid of this form of possession, requires some form of purifying ritual, and unlike the afore mentioned forms, the person can continue leading a normal life afterwards. The beast of curse, like the witch's cursed werewolf, can of course be killed with silver, although the preferred method is of course, blessed silver.
The chances of banishing the demon are often slim, but has been done in the past, and the purifying magicks are often performed by an older magus or priest, experienced in such way of battling evil spirits and demons. Although you will often find that the church is often loathe to admit to such things and will prove to be unccoperative, until empirical proof of some sort is given to substantiate such an occurrence. Even then they may still be reluctant intercede, and magi of such caliber, are often hard to come by. so looking for a solutions is often a very difficult task, and thusly, the preferred method to deal with such possessions is often death.

The Demon wulf or Hell hound

Is perhaps one of the most hideous of all.
It attacks unseen and they do their damage and disappear without a trace. I am not sure as to how such a corrupted spirit can ever be created and I am still doing research into the matter. They can be killed by guardian spirits that are very old, and they apparently can afflict their curse upon not only other spirits, but the living as well. The only encounter that I have to draw off of, is one where I was personally involved.
it involved two demon werewolves who's one goal in life, was to corrupt other spirits and to have no emotion what so ever. If it had not been for very powerful guardian spirits on hand, that defeated this pair, I am positive that I would have ended up being bitten by one that had slipped into my bedroom ripping through very powerful wards. Take my word for it or not, they were very powerful and they were no to be ignored.
I am not very well versed in etheric projection, but I would guess that more skilled persons or weres would be able to tell you how to ward them off. As for myself, any information is welcome on any of the different cursed
were types and how to they can be defeated or resolved

Conclusion.

It is my opinion that all mythos, folklore, etcetera, is based in some form of fact, at one time or another. I would not take any tale lightly, and we can learn a great deal from such tales. Yet if there is one lesson to be learned, it is a very simple one. There are many forms of werewolf, and in order to know who the "bad guys" are, education is required. So that the blind rage of anyone, can be calmed, in order to ascertain what the true nature of any creature may be. It is my hope, that this research, will stop the needless rage that often abounds in this world, and will clear up many misconceptions about the creatures known as werewolves. For as I have stated before, their are many levels to our world, not just the physical. Which also means that there is of course, many forms of werewolf as well.
