| This solitary critter is called a Bullet Ant. He is about an inch long and if he stings you, count on days of searing pain. We found this guy on the trail and gave him plenty of room. | |||||||||||||

| The falls are beautiful, if not spectacular in the dry season. We are in a gorge surrounded by jungle. There is a beautiful pool at the bottom. We climb up a rock wall at the side and slide down, great fun. Saw my first poison dart frog, bright blue and black. We sunbathe the top of the fall and John tries to slide down another fall above us and finds the rock at the bottom with his butt. Hernan had a fit. When he calms down he tells us that a guides worst nightmare is broken bones. John is O.K. and we take turns sliding down the lower fall. Great. Paradise, yes, but son Bob was nearly bitten by a poisonous snake that was hiding at the top of the fall. One must always be on the alert in the jungle! Back Top Next |
