January
We had the worst snowstorm in a decade in the area and it paralyzed Portland for several days. We were trapped indoors for the days and were almost running out of food. When we went out for food hunting, the outside was quite a mess and we got stuck by snow chunks in a restaurant's parking lot for a while. Just when we finally make our way to the grocery, guess what? All the eggs were gone! And only a few bottles of milk left. Who says Portland barely snows?! Just take a look of the bush outside our apartment.
February
I had a lasik surgery for my nearsightedness on February 10, 2004. I still cannot really believe I would finally get rid of my glasses and contact lens some day. I can't quite remember how my life was before I was nearsighted but it is definitely more than just wonderful now. Thanks for the technology! The interesting thing is sometimes I forget I don't need glasses anymore so I still search my glasses everywhere when I wake up in the morning. I took some pictures of before and after. Take a look.
March
March 19, 2004, is the first day of spring this year. We could officially say bye-bye to the rainy winter. Now the entire city is waking up from the long sleep and starts blooming here and there. Huang-Chin took some pretty pictures on his way home from work. What a enjoyable walk! To celebrate the arrival of spring, I had a new cute haircut, too. (Click here for my dumb look!)
