Plankspanker

My nephew Joey, Me, and my niece Katy
Okay, first off, about the name. "Plankspanker"
originated as a quote from Billy Gibbons of ZZ-Top when he
referred to playing the guitar as "Spankin' the Plank."
The guys I was in a band with picked up on it, and when I needed
an on-line identity, it worked.
I became interested in sculpting about four
years ago. I was an avid modeler as a boy, but put it aside as
cars, girls, and rock and roll took up most of my time. In 1984,
I began painting Genadier and Ral-Partha role-playing game
miniatures. This led to Sci-Fi model kits. I wanted to build
model subjects that weren't available, and so decided to sculpt
my own. In doing so, I found that it takes less time to sculpt
an original work than it does to correct all the manufacturing
flaws (seam lines, sink holes, etc..).
I have a whole laundry list of other interests,
including playing and recording electric and acoustic guitar,
photography, paleontology, military history, natural history, Sci-Fi
and Horror stories, Monty Python, Mystery Science Theater 3000,
rock music with good guitar playing and computing. This list will
be expanded as more hobbies become available.

This page would not have been possible without
the tireless efforts of my good Cyber-friend, Kd Kid. Thanks for
all the advice and help, Kd, and I hope I can return the favor
someday.
