Lying so peaceful, eyes closed in sleep, All your sweet memories are mine to keep, As you softly stir, I think of all the reasons I love you, Your rosey red cheeks, eyes so pure and bright, Sugar coated lips, What a sight!
Sticky fingers, and kisses so sweet, Just think of those dirtly little hands and feet, I can look around this room, see all the marks you leave, All the patterns in life you carefully weave.
The grape juice stain on the rug from yesterday, Crayon marks on the wall, while hard at play, All the stains left behind on the furniture, Who knows tomorrow what will occur.
Making mud pies and cakes, Oh my goodness sakes, Crying loudly when you skin your knees, Oh no, did I hear you sneeze?
But you know what makes it all worth while? When you wrap your arms around me with a smile, Hugging me tightly and say "Mommy I love you!" And I say "Mischief or not, I love you too!"
