944.  Abraham SOBLET was born in France. "Abraham and his wife Susanne Soblet had fled from France to escape the religious persecution, or death, following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. They first went to Germany where in 1686 Pierre Louis was born. Next they moved to Holland and from there .... to Littlebury, near London." He immigrated aboard the ship Mary and Ann and on 12 August 1700 arrived in James City, Virginia. He owned 88 acres in 1700 in James River, Henrico County, Virginia. He owned 133 acres in 1707 in Goochland County, Virginia. He was elected as Vestryman to govern the town in 1707 in Manakin Towne, Goochland County, Virginia.
945. Susanne BRIAN immigrated aboard the Peter and Anthony on 20 September 1700 to James River, Virginia. She was born in France.
Their children were:
ii. Anne SOBLET was born about 1684 in Holland.
iii. Littlebury SOBLET was born about 1700 in England.
iv. Abraham SOBLET Jr. was born about 1694.
v. Jacques SOBLET was born about 1689. He died 1741 or 1742 in Goochland County, Virginia.
vi. Robert SOBLET was born 20 April 1698 in London, England.
Much of the information on this family was derived from "The Kelley Family of Virginia; Also Sublett-Turner 1973" by Mrs. John D. Moore. While I have done some work to confirm this information through primary sources, I have not personally verified all information.
