Abraham SOBLET was born in France. "Abraham and his wife Susanne Soblet had fled from France to escape the religious persecution, or death, following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. They first went to Germany where in 1686 Pierre Louis was born. Next they moved to Holland and from there .... to Littlebury, near London." He immigrated aboard the ship Mary and Ann and on 12 August 1700 arrived in James City, Virginia. He owned 88 acres in 1700 in James River, Henrico County, Virginia. He owned 133 acres in 1707 in Goochland County, Virginia. He was elected as Vestryman to govern the town in 1707 in Manakin Towne, Goochland County, Virginia.
