Voyager Academy

Voyager's fifth grade students have finished their $1000.00 shopping spree. This Spreadsheet activity used an online, interactive spreadsheet to calculate their data.

Now they will practice making graphs on Microsoft Excel. Students will need to collect data and load it into a spreadsheet. After all their data is typed into the spreadsheet they will create a graph.

Here is the fun part!

I have teamed up with Coach Germino and every fifth grade class will go outside to collect their data. Students will test how many feet they can throw a football, how many feet they can kick a kickball, and how many minutes they can jump rope.

Once all their data is collected they will come back to the lab and get to work on their spreadsheets!

	Internet Vocabulary Advertisements: Students will creatively display one of the internet vocabulary words, showing 1. they understand the definition and 2. they can express its meaning creatively using Microsoft Office Word. Keyboarding Progress Report: Students will learn, review, and practice the proper keyboarding technique focusing on accuracy and speed.   File Management Students will learn to efficiently create, locate, name, and organize folders and files. This seems like an insignificant project, but it's important for students to learn the most efficient way to manage their files and folders. As they start using computers more often and for a wider variety of tasks they will benefit from efficiency.

Spread Sheets

In the coming weeks students will learn about using spread sheets. They will learn basic spread sheet vocabulary and learn how to plug in and manipulate numbers, make graphs, and present data.
