Xemxija
Meeting Place:- Xemxija Bay @ 2.40pm
A tour to this area will hopefully take us to the Temple period and Punic Tombs at Xemxija, Temple remains and the Migbha in the area. Time permitting we will visit other interesting places nearby. |
2 TUESDAY |
Lecture
Meeting Place:- Din l-Art Helwa premisis @6.30pm sharp
“Investigating ancient tracks and cart-ruts in Switzerland and adjoining regions” by Guy Schneider (of the IVS project co-ordinated by the University of Bern) |
14 SUNDAY |
Bingemma Picnic
Meeting Place:- Roman ‘Villa’ @ 9.40am
The classical burial site at Bingemma will feature in this tour, but explanation will be given on the geology and military use of the area. After a picnic in the area, we will end the day by a walk. Bring your own packed lunch and drinks |
27 SATURDAY |
Cultural Night Hike – Siggiewi
Meeting Place:- Siggiewi Church @ 6.40pm
A 10 km walk through the historical and archaeological heritage of Siggiewi (possibly including the old chapel of St. Nicholas and a cave near the Laferla cross) highlighted through torchlight. Bring one or more torches with you. |
18 SUNDAY |
San Pawl Milqi Meeting Place:- Mosta Church @ 9.40am sharp This tour will take us through the history of the classical remains at San Pawl Milqi. Unless access is difficult and time permitting we will visit the Bronze Age settlement at Il-Qolla |
9 SUNDAY |
Eastern Malta
Meeting Place:- BirzebugaChurch@1.40pm
We will visit Ghar l-Ahmar and the area near Borg in-Nadur. Time permitting we will have a walk in the area looking for the dolmen at Tal-Garda and the catacombs at Ta’ Karagg |
