Phase 3: From Black and White to Color

Now that your piece is: scanned, cleaned, and inked. It's time to add a little color to your piece. Just like in Phase 2 I'm going to be assuming that you have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and it's tools, so I'm not wasting my time holding your hand through the whole process. This portion of the guide is more theory/idea based than the previous 2 sections.

Making Selections: I Choo-Choo Choose You.

Select the Magic Wand tool and the layer with your lineart. Begin selecting the interior sections of your piece (hold Shift while you click each interior part to add to the current selection). Once you have the entire interior selected use Select > Modify > Expand and expand the selection by 3-4 pixels. Save the selection as "Fill (Select > Save Selection)" and create a new layer under your lineart layer.

Now that we have our fill area selected, we can begin adding some color to our piece.

To be completed later...
