1.
The Story And Plot You start out in your house and then work
your way to your next door neighbor.....Utsugi's Lab!! You
get to choose from either these 3 Pokémon: #152: Chikorita
(Plant) #155: Cyndaquil (Fire) #158: Totodile (Water) I took
Cyndaquil, because it looks the coolest out of the three,
and he actually is rather powerful (and unlike starting with
charmander, the first 3 gyms aren't totally against you).
I have heard Totodile is also a good choice. Chikorita is
3rd best. This pokemon is for all you lazy trainers. This
grass pokemon learn its move fast. Unlike Totodile this pokemon
learn many attacks that could damage its opponent. Totodile
learn lots of stupid stuff like leer and scary face. Chikorita
learns Razor Leaf at about level 11. Anyways, Utsugi then
tells you that you should go to Proffesor Oak in a cottage
north to get your pokédex and give you a Togepi Egg to give
to Utsugi. To get to Prof. Oak, you need to head west to the
2nd town you find. On the way you'll see #161 OTACHI, and
Pidgeys. When you get to the next town, heal your pokémon
at the pokémon center, and then head northeast to find the
cottage. Once you get there and talk and talk and talk some
more, you go back to Wakaba and fight your Rival (Gin). However,
your rival isn't all that nice. He got his pokémon by stealing
them! When you battle him he'll have the oppisite of your
starting pokémon. He shouldn't be too hard to beat, seeing
that his pokemon won't know any of their specail attacks yet.
Finally you get to Utsugi where he sets you off on your pokémon
journey, His AID would give you 5 pokeballs as you leave.
2. How To Get To The First 8 Gyms and More First of all, before
you start you'll want to know that you can get your pokéballs
by hitting right on your item list twice. There are also lots
of versions of pokéballs in this game like speed ball, moon
ball, friend ball, lure ball, pokeball, greatball, masterball,
ultraball, love ball, and some other balls. Anyways, after
you go back to Utsugi's Lab, head back to that town where
you were before. From there head Northwest, where you'll notice
the two kids having a battle and blocking the road are now
gone. On the way you'll see some farmilair pokémon from Red
and Blue. If you have the Gold version you'll be finding Caterpies
and Metapods, and if you have the Silver version you'll be
finding Weedles and Kakunas. Once you get the most northern
and western part you can go, you'll notice a house that you
can walk through. Going through here leads you to the first
town with a gym. Go to the gym in the town. You'll find some
easy trianers with bird pokémon, and the gym leader having
a level 7 Pidgey, and a level 9 Pidgeoto (easy stuff). Watch
out if you started with Chikorita, becuase he will have some
problems against birds. It's pretty annoying because the could
do some kind of move I think called Mud Slap. It lowers your
accuracy AND damages you. When you beat the gym leader, you
will receive a call from Utsugi to go to the town's Pokemon
Center. Go to Pokemon Center and you'll find his AID. His
AID will give you back the egg you gave to Utsugi Earlier.
Next, when you head west, you'll notice that theres a tree
blocking the road that shakes when you press a on it. This
is actually a pokémon called Ussoki , but you can't fight
it until later on. Instead, head south through the house,
and you'll find two caves. Go to the north cave, where you'll
find a little station where there's a puzzle you have to solve.
When put together the puzzle is a Kabuto. Remember that, for
it will help you solve it. Once you beat it, you'll be transported
to the 2nd cave where you can fight a ghost type pokémon called
Annons. Annons has a ton of different forms (but one pokedex
entry and this is optional!). If you catch at least 2 Annon
forms, an Annon Scientists will upgrade your pokedex so it
would be equipped with the Annondex. The Annondex is for you
to get all the Annon froms. I think there are 27 of them.
Some of them run away by themselves. After that, go to the
temple in the northwest town, where they're just crazy about
bellsprouts. Get through it all and talk with the last guy
and he'll give you HM 05, or flash. When you get out of the
cave you were transported to, go east, and the go south. After
fighting a bunch of trianers, and several new pokemon that
you haven't seen yet, you enter a cave where you'll fight
geodudes and zubats. When you get out of the cave you'll find
yourself going west to a new town. However, before you can
get into the gym or any other buildings in the town, you have
to beat team rocket and release slowpokes all over the town.
But to get past the team rocket member guarding the entrance
to a cave, you'll need to go to a house in the north western
part of the town. Talk with the man, and he'll get the team
rocket member to leave. Now you could go inside and beat all
the Team Rockets in there and you will release all the Slowpokes. Now,
when you go to the gym, you'll be fighting the bug gym. The
leader has a metapod, kakuna, and a scyther. Pretty easy (especailly
for Cyndaquil). If you have some kind of special thing go
back to where you talk to the guy that lead you into the cave.
He is a guy that makes pokeball for you. Now, you'll want
to go west through a house into the forest. To get through
the forest you'll need the HM cut, which you get by chasing
a bird around (talk the officer once you get him to the officer).
Once you get through the forest, you'll go north a little
past some trainers and grass to a town that is rather like
Celadon. It has a big shop, and a ton of small little houses.
The gym here uses normal pokemon like the new pokemon, Milktank!
It looks like a cow. Fighting pokémon should rip this gym
up. Note: I had to talk to the gym leader twice after beating
her to get the badge. Before you go to the next part of the
town, take a stop at that building that is covered with black,
and talk with the girl at the counter to the most right. She'll
ask you some questions, here's the order to answer them: Yes,
Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Yes. Then she'll give you the radio that
you'll use way later on to get to some of the later gyms.
Next, you'll have to wake the tree. Go to a house in the northeast
of town, where you can see flowers near it. Inside, it will
be like a greenhouse. One of the girls in there gives you
a item called "Squirtle Water" that you need to wake Ussoki
that blocks your path to the next city. Now, goto where the
tree is (head north, then east), press A to it, and you'll
see a lot of text, then will be asked a question. Respond
yes (the first choice) to it, and you'll fight it. Now, head
northwest a little, and you'll end up in the next town. Catch
this pokemon! You only have one chance in the game. This city
has a gym that specailizes in ghost pokemon. To get to the
leader, you'll need to travel across a path that you can't
see or you'll be teleported back to the start. Its really
annoying. He has a gastly, haunter, gengar, and another haunter.
Beat him and go to the house contains a man, and 5 eevee daughters.
They have either a Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, #196 EFUI,
#197 BURAKKI. Once you beat them all, talk with the man and
he'll give you HM 03 surf. Now you're ready to head for the
next gym. You're going to want to travel west of the town,
past the guard house. Next, head south to the town on the
coast. When you get there, you'll probally enter the gym.
However, you'll notice that it's empty except for that strange
guy who gives out advice. The gym leader is actually up in
the tower (lighthouse) with her Kangaskhan, but she won't
come down until you get the medicine which allows her to heal
herself from her sickness and her Kangaskhan. Now, proceed
to getting strength. A sailor in a hut in town will give it
to you, allowing you to now move brown boulders. Now surf
southwest of the town passing the caves surrounding by a fence
and a whirlpool. You need a HM called Tide to calm it down
which is later on in the game. Somewhere in the middle of
the town is a pharmacist. He'll give you a medicine. Don't
go back to the Steel Gym (the 4th gym leader which is sick)
unless you want to surf back to this island again. On this
island there's a gym. It's a Fighting Gym. Beat the 2 trainers
and move the boulders to get to the Gym leader. Beat him.
After you beat him talk to a woman outside of the gym and
she'll give you fly. Teach it to a bird pokemon. If you did
you don't have to surf to the city above where the steel gym
is. Get there and Go back to the Lighthouse and get to the
gym leader. Give her the Medicine and she'll be at the gym
waiting for you. She'll have steel pokemon like Haganeru or
Stelix(Evolution of Onix.) After you beat her, head back to
the ghost gym town. Go east this time, through another gate,
where you should surf across two rivers (each having a cave
that as far as I know are of no importance). You'll then get
to a town where you can't do much except visit the shop and
the center. A man blocks the gym, and another man blocks the
path (he charges you 500 bucks to talk with him). Go north
through 1 house, and avoid the 2nd by going around it in the
grass (it contains rocket members who cost you 1k a crossing).
