"Yeah, y'all want something to eat? I'll go get it," Justin offered.
Taylor started cracking up, "y'all," She mimicked, while Elisa sniggered.
Justin threw her a look, "be careful, or no nachos for you!" He said, faking anger.
"Oh no! I'm sorry!" Taylor answered quickly, grinning as she threw her arms around his neck and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Besides, I want popcorn." She answered.
"Cool. How 'bout you two?" He asked, talking to Lance and Elisa.
"I think I'll just have a soda, Pepsi." Lance answered.
"Umm," Elisa thought for a moment, "just get me a big box of those Sour Patches?"
"Alright." Justin answered, and sauntered off. Taylor settled herself back into her seat next to Elisa.
"Is that new girl group who's opening for you any good?" Elisa asked Lance.
"Yeah, they're alright. But they're so annoying," Lance answered, making a look of disgust.
"Oh, like that one girl? You know, the one you said had the biggest crush on Justin?" Elisa said, chuckling.
"Oh, yeah!" Lance answered, remembering, "goodness, she has it bad for him. She doesn't have a chance, with Taylor having Justin and all." He answered, grinning at Taylor. Taylor listened interestedly.
"What's this girl's name?" She asked, something clicking in the back of her mind.
"Tracy." Lance looked puzzled. "I would have thought he'd have told you about her by now." The look on Taylor's face told him immediately that they'd been talking about the wrong subject. But it was too late, Justin was walking back, his arms full of the stuff they had ordered.
"Why didn't you tell me this Tracy girl was touring with you?" Taylor asked him as soon as he came near them.
"Oh, I forgot to mention that," Justin answered quickly, taking a big gulp of his soda.
"Oh, really?" Taylor asked, annoyed. "You forgot to mention it when the girl called your cell phone early this morning and in the car twenty minutes ago?" Lance and Elisa watched the exchange like two spectators watching a game of tennis.
"I didn't think it mattered!" He answered defensively.
"Why didn't you say anything about this girl having a crush on you?" Taylor asked, feeling hurt, "did you think I'd be that jealous?" The hurt look on her face crushed Justin.
"No, I just didn't want you, I mean, I didn't want you to think that there was something going on because she liked me!"
"Oh, and having me find out about her from someone else is better?" She asked, her voice hot with anger. The two bickered, and finally Taylor threw her popcorn at him and stormed out of the theatre, the other three following behind her.
"How was the tour?" Mikayla asked JC hours later, fingering the lion pendant on his chest. "I never really asked you." She said sheepishly.
"It was tiring," JC answered with a sigh. He stared up at the ceiling, his hands linked behind his head.
"But you were good," She pointed out, snuggling closer to him. The two of them were in her bedroom, lying on the bed beneath the covers. "I remember the first time I saw you on stage-" She couldn't finish because she began to laugh.
"Yeah, it was almost as if you'd seen the devil himself," JC said dryly. "but I don't blame you. Now that I think of it, it was almost embarrassing to have you see me for the first time up there, in those weird outfits."
"They were cute," Mikayla told him, smiling at him fondly. "But I can't tell you what it means to have you here." He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her deeply. Their kiss was interrupted by the loud slam of a door and several voices that were loud and angry.
JC groaned, "it's like we never have a moment to ourselves," He muttered, sitting up and grabbing his shirt from the floor beside the bed.
"I know," Mikayla answered, a wistful look on her face that made JC pull her to him. "Josh," She said, pulling away after a moment, "it sounds like something's wrong down there." She said, and they both got dressed quickly and went downstairs.
"What do you mean, she means nothing? If she means nothing, you would have told me about her!" Taylor insisted, slamming the door behind her.
"I didn't want you to get upset about it!" Justin said, repeating the same things he'd been saying throughout the ride back to the house. "And besides, why didn't you tell me you were going out with other guys behind my back!" Justin retorted.
"I never went out with other guys behind you're back!" Taylor said shrilly.
"Yes you did! Last night you were out with Nick Carter!" He accused, his tone dark. "Oh Brian, tell Nick that I'll whoop his ass anytime on X-Men vs. Street Fighter," He added, making his voice high and shrill, sounding nothing at all like Taylor's voice, but causing the effect he wanted.
"That's not the same thing!" She argued, "we are just friends, that's different than going out with someone like I go out with you!"
"Whatever! Next thing you know, you'll be dating him and screwing him!" Justin yelled back, the words flying out of his mouth without being thought through first. "Oh God, Taylor, I didn't mean-" He started, realizing the brash harshness of his words.
The look on her face made Justin's heart stop. The anger seemed to drain from her face, along with her color, making her seem extremely pale. "That hurt, Justin," She whispered, "you were the only one, and you know it." The words seemed so final, his heart leaped back into action and began pumping furiously.
"I didn't mean it Tay!" He pleaded, afraid to take her hand, in case the movement would cause her to become angry again.
"Don't talk to me anymore, Justin." She said, heading up the stairs slowly, her heart feeling like it'd been stabbed painfully several times.
