The limo pulled up to the club where the after party was being held. We waited for security to make sure everything was in order before we went in.
It was always fun to go dancing with the guys; it was even fun to watch them. They each had their own style of dancing. Joey always had at least five girls on him. Justin was a good dancer, he danced really smooth. J.C. was hyper, plain and simple. Lance had the salsa dancing down and even though he said he couldn't dance, he could.
We walked in and put our stuff down. Lance and I sat down and got a drink.
"By May, we'll really be drinking." Lance said above the music.
"Hell yeah!" I yelled back. Lance and I both had our birthday in May, so we always have awesome parties. "So do you want to dance?"
"Sure!" Lance said finishing his drink quickly and taking my hand. We made it out onto the floor just as one of Gloria Estefan's songs came on over the speakers. "Lucky us!" He exclaimed enthusiastically. As he put his hands around my waist and I draped mine around his neck. Pretty soon there were a few people who stopped to look at us. Dancing like this reminded me of the good old days back in Mississippi.
The song ended and we kept dancing to the new songs that played over the speakers. After a while Lance decided to stop and go get a drink. I found Joey dancing with a few girls and danced near him.
All of a sudden I felt someone's hands around my waist. I looked over my shoulder and saw J.C. I pulled his arms tighter around me. I felt his stomach muscles tense against my body. As we danced I felt his perfect abs against my back.
A slow song started and he spun me around to face him. I crashed into his chest and wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer by putting his arms around my waist.
"You don't think Lance will mind me stealing his date for awhile do you?" He asked, his eyes gazing over my face.
"I hope not." I replied resting my head on his shoulder.
The song ended and we pulled apart.
"Can I buy you a drink?" He asked.
"Sure." I replied as his hand moved down my arm and he took my hand in his.
We walked up to the bar and he ordered us both a coke. We walked over to where Lance was sitting and joined him. I drank my coke quickly and excused myself to the bathroom. Lance and J.C. continued talking.
"Man are you ok?" J.C. asked Lance curiously.
"I'm fine." He answered quickly.
"Are you sure? You're not mad that I stole your date for two songs are you?" J.C. prodded, determined to find out what was wrong.
"No." He answered. It wasn't the truth but he didn't want to get into an argument with J.C. It wasn't really his fault either. If J.C. knew how he felt about Lucy he would back off, but he wasn't intending on telling him anytime soon. "J.C. do you mind if I ask you a question?"
"No." J.C. answered. "Go right ahead."
"Do you still like Lucy?" He asked.
"Yeah. Why?" J.C. said in response.
"I was just wondering if you were going to act on those feelings or if you were simply going to lead her on." He responded with a slight attitude. Even if he liked her he still had to look out for her and do what was best for her.
"Well, I like her a lot. I'm just not sure if she likes me." He answered. "What should I do?"
"I think you should follow your instincts." Lance answered as Lucy walked back towards the table.
"Hey Lucy, do you want to dance some more?" J.C. asked standing up. She looked at Lance for approval. He nodded and turned away. She placed her hand into J.C.'s and followed him out onto the floor. J.C. and Lucy danced for the rest of the night. She couldn't help but wonder why Lance was acting the way he was. It was so unlike him.
The party lasted until 3:00 am. Everyone was exhausted on the way home.
When they arrived at the back entrance of the hotel they all got out and went inside. J.C. had decided to walk Lucy to her door.
"I had so much fun, thanks." She said as they stood in front of her room.
"Your welcome, but I should be the one thanking you." He answered.
"Why is that?" She asked.
"For allowing me to be in your presence. You fill the room with beauty, I'm just grateful you let me hang with you." He answered. His eyes gazed over her face as a rosy blush covered it. She smiled and giggled nervously. He smiled at her and placed his hand on her cheek. It was now or never he thought.
He cupped her face gently and moved closer to her. His lips grazed hers lightly and then he increased the pressure when she responded. It was only a short kiss, and he didn't want it to end, but she pulled away nervously.
"What was that for?" She asked.
"That was because I like you a lot and I've been wanting to do that all night." He answered as the blush reappeared on her cheeks.
She smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Goodnight." She said softly. "Get some sleep. You have some busy weeks ahead."
"Sweet dreams." He replied.
"You too." She answered.
"I know mine will be sweet." He replied. "How can they not, they're all gonna be about you."
She blushed and pushed open the door to her room. She closed it behind her and leaned against it smiling as she replayed the kiss they had shared. He had soft lips, and she craved for them against hers again. As she got ready for bed she thought about the night, to her it couldn't have been more perfect.
