Swimming : Green Lake trough his shallow and sandy beaches and clear water offers you the best condition to enjoy swimming. The Lake with a maximal depth of 200 ft. has a very short recovery time after rainy days , regarding the water temperature . Boating :18 km of lake with dozen of unhabitaded islands and quiet bays offers you the best for canoeing , sailing ore power boating. Right in front of our resort you find a water-ski slalom course. Hiking & Mountain biking : right across our resort is the Green Lake Snowmobilclub the starting point of one of the best trail system of the Cariboo . This well maintained and marked trails totaling over 300 km reach in the North up to Wells Gray Park and South via Loon Lake down to Kamloops . Fishing & Hunting : Green Lake is restockt every year with lake trout and kokanee , for the avid fisherman there are 6 more smaller lakes in a 20 min. reach. Poplar Beach Resort is on the border point of 3 hunting management units, grouse, waterfowl, dear, moose, bear and fox are the predominant species. Horseback riding : if supervised or by your own the 2 working ranches on Green Lake with over 250 horses will satisfy your cowboy dreams and that for under 20 $/hour. Golfing : a drive of 30 minutes brings you to a 18 hole CPGA course with carts, clubhouse with restaurant, pro-shop and pro-lessons if you wish. Dining : besides the cafeteria of the resort there are 5 restaurants and 2 pubs in a 15 minutes drive reach. |
