About 6A
Name: 6 Ambition
School: St. Stephen's School (aka S.S.S.)
Country: Singapore
Students: 44
Form Teacher: Miss Sharon Thia
6A 2002 and 6A Online history:
6A was the name of the class in 2002. 6A was
the best class in the level, and our form teacher, Miss
Sharon Thia,
had been teaching the best class for 6 years.
Therefore, there were students who were taught by Miss Thia
for
the entire six years.. 6A Online was created
in 2002 when our form teacher asked Ziko and Melvin to create
a webpage.
Melvin started off the next day with a quick
website made with Yahoo geocities. It was simple, and then
Ziko started to help
and add backgrounds and other stuff. There
was 6A Version 1. After that, Melvin made a website using
frames in Macromedia
Dreamweaver. It only had three simple colors
(yellow, blue, red) and it was really too simple. Ziko helped
to make student info
pages on the site, while Anton helped to collect
the student info of students on scribbled pieces of paper.
Melvin decided that
the website design was just too simple, and
therefore discarded 6A version 2 and started work on 6A
version 3. It was quite a simple
site too, but it had voting polls and guestbooks
and stuff. It was also when the tag boards were flooded
with insulting posts, because of some people
who wanted to create trouble on the site..
So Melvin had to remove the tag board to stop the abuse.
After a while, Melvin discovered PHP Nuke, a web
development software. Melvin worked hard on
his computer throughout the entire June holidays to make
PHP Nuke ready for use,
customizing it with all kinds of scripts and
uploading loads and loads of files. Unfortunately, the website
host, had to close down.
And so Melvin had no place to host his PHP
Nuke, which he worked
so hard on fixing bugs here and there, updating
the site and adding stuff. So there went 6A Version 4, totally
gone. He still has all
the PHP Nuke files, and may one day restore
it. However, as the site was not really used anyway, (the
forums were almost empty, and barely anyone
visited the site. It was a very complicated site and maybe
a little hard to
navigate around..) so Melvin probably won't
restore the site anyway since it was kind of what you would
call a "white elephant".
And so went all Melvin's hard work on 6A Online
V4, and Melvin decided to create a new webpage. And here
it is. 6A Online V5. It is really
very simple, just black and white, but I like
it that way. I don't think there's a need for flashy websites
or so, maybe I could add on to this site in the future.
For now, enjoy this site. :)
