~ Collection ~
Below are all of my fanart that do not fit into a specific subject page and do not number enough to start their own. Organized by year and the most recent illustration by date.
[NOTE: my alias has changed from "Shadowfax" to "Nickel S." over the course of my time as a fanartist]

2003

Title: Yue: Avatar of the Moon
Date: drawn June 2002, colouring completed March 2003
Subject: Yue from Card Captors
Annotation: This piece was meant to explore perspective and depth a little more than I usually go for in my character pieces. [Who am I kidding? I only do character pieces. Come to think of it, I've been adding more depth to my pictures recently... but I still haven't managed to do Grove from VHD:B, nor colour my Feanor pic, yet.]
Yue's wings are nifty. He was supposed to be shooting shards, but I couldn't quite figure out how to do that so I went with Photoshop's screening and overlay techniques combined with the spherize filter.

2002

Title: The Children of Zeal
Date: Q3 2002
Subject: Schala, Janus/Magus from Chrono Trigger
Annotation: Alfador (the cat) is awesome! Actually, Janus is quite well done on the whole, especially his hair and eyes. The background was diasappointing.

2001

Date: February 2001
Subject: Folken from Escaflowne
Annotation: YeeeOW! yeah, baby, that's Folken, all shirtless and molting. His arms are a little disproportionate unfortunately. Although I must say, not bad in emulating the Escaflowne character style (ie: their funky facial structures).

2000

Title: Pillar of Fire
Date: July 2000
Subject: Terra Branford from Final Fantasy VI
Annotation: Here's something new. Originally drawn and shaded with pencil, I scanned it in and just filled in the colour. I would have made it look even more Andy Warhol-ish if I hadn't become so picky that I actually started caring about the colouring.
I love the Atma Weapon; lightsabres kick ass!
Damned pic took me a whole of 3 hours during my nocturnal stretch of three days.
Title: Dark Azrael
Date: Jan/Feb 2000
Subject: Raziel and Kain from Legacy of Kain 2: Soul Reaver
Annotation: 1) Raz is one of the coolest characters to draw. I mean he's all burned up with no face, skin or stomach at all but I like drawing him.
2) As for the title, well, it seems to me the name "Raziel" is just a scrambled version of Azrael, "the angel that separates the soul from the body at death." [note June 2001: I now know that Raziel is not the same angel as Azrael, the angel of death. However the "angel of death" part still seems appropriate.]
3) Coloured using Photoshop 5.0 My proficiency with that program is pathetic, this picture was months in the making, literally, @ approx. 2hrs/week. To give you an indication of my speed it took me 6 hours just to colour Kain. (It took me one HOUR to do the Soul Reaver... I disgust myself)

1999

Title:
Date: July/Aug. 1999
Subject: Alucard from Castlevania: SotN
Annotation: 1 of 3 in the 'poster series' done during the first half of my rather unproductive summer'99. The actual is taped on my wall, collecting the sun's rays, and therefore fading... This was coloured using a dying black felt so that's why it looks the way it does; I had to colour and recolour the same spots over whenever the felt collected enough ink to make three strokes -_-' Minimal touch ups using Photoshop.

1998

Date: Nov. 15th, 1998
Subject: Alucard from Castlevania: SotN
Annotation: Can you tell I'm doing this in alphabetical order? Anyway, this is kinda blah, I like the real picture a whole lot better. The contrast on my uncle's scanner isn't very good.
Date: Aug. 27th, 1998
Subject: Baby Alucard and his mother, Lisa.
Annotation: I like this one, it's kinda cute and weird at the same time, more cute, I guess. It was sort of weird drawing this one since I don't usually draw like this. It was a breeze to colour this one and all the other ones I had on this tracing sheet because of the solid lines; I should do that more often.
Title: Amor Vincit Omnia
Date: Drawn June 1998, scanned/coloured Aug. 1999
Subject: Alucard and Maria from Castlevania: SotN
Annotation: The title.. HA! See I did learn something in Lit class ^_^; If you relate it to my fic Blood Relations, then yes, I guess love does [conquer] all. Ah, this is a rather strange picture. Indeed I still look at it rather horrified sometimes. I can't say whether for Alucard, Maria, or myself. It was damn hard to colour, though, and I'm still not too pleased with Maria's hair. (I haven't bothered to adapt the colours of the program to that of my monitor...)
Title: Jakal: Falcon Lord of the Skies
Date: Mar.12, 1998; Colour finished Feb.6/00
Subject: Jakal from Mummies Alive
Annotation: This is Jakal, the oh-fearless-leader guy. I like his wings.
Well, now that it's coloured, I'd have to say I like the way it turned out; I tried making it look like animated sort of colouring. Terribly pixelated outline though since it started out too small when I began adding colour. Ye gods, it took me 6 hours to colour! And that was one of my faster ones... to think nesan does hers in like half the time.
Date: Mar. 4, 1998
Subject: Rath from Mummies Alive!
Annotation: Although Rath is my favourite, this is my only big picture I have scanned on him. I don't think I drew him all that often, but there were a couple of requests that I did that were snail mailed off to their respective fans and I never saw them again. Ah well, I bet they wouldn't look all that great now if I saw them.
Date: Feb. 27, 1998; colour posted May 2000
Subject: Nefertina from Mummies Alive!
Annotation: 3 pics of Mummies Alive characters that I've scanned. Finally all coloured! Little comical pics are in Gallery C, but there are only two of those. I got lazy with the background so it looks like it's screwed but it's just because she's covering it.
Actually I think I like this pic the most out of all three of them. Jakal was a first so it's just okay. Rath, I think I didn't save it at high enough resolution and I don't wanna go back and change it.

1997

Date: May 8, 1997
Subject: Malachite and Zoisite from 1st season of *shudders* Sailor Moon
Annotation: This is how stuff looked like a long long time ago (in a galaxy far far away...) Tell you the truth, this was one of the best back then, so you're lucky I'm not foolish enough to have scanned anymore of my 'ite fanart. My doujinshi weren't that bad though, not very consistent, but funny...
