Hellow
you, it's me again... Thanks for coming to the PUSHT
page. It all started When I was little, with my butter containers,
Pringles cans and my aluminum pie pans. My sticks were no.2
pencils. Hey! Maybe I should have asked Parkay, and Pringles
for an endorsement. Anyway, I use to take different amounts of paper
towels and stick them in the containers to make different sounds.
I imagine I made quite a racket.
When I got farther
along in school I took band and of course I played the drums. The
teacher I had wasn't worth a damn, she was more interested in the
other instruments and spent very little time with drums. So I basically
had to teach myself. When I was in 6th or 7th grade my parents bought
me my first drum set. I set them up in the basement and began to
learn how to play a drum set. I use to put head phones on and play
to music. I played to groups like Ozzy, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Van
Halen, The Who, Tom Petty, just to name a few.
When I got
into high school I didn't go out for band my first year because
they had the teacher I had in grade school and I felt I could learn
more on my own. The next year they got a new teacher. He was a big
time jazz player. He could play about any instrument. So I went
out for band, jazz band, and marching band. He really taught me
a lot about music. He let me have the freedom to create from my
mind and my heart.
After high school
I went into the military and didn't play for six years. Then in
1995 I bought a drum set and started again where I left off. I practiced
several hours a day for three months, playing to other bands. Then
I hooked up with Eric. After jamming for
a few months we decided to play at his birthday in front of a bunch
of his friends. Lo and behold enter Ron and
Stacy Corbin. Me and Eric joined forces
with them to form Entry Level Position.
We did release a CD and got some decent radio play on the Lazer
Local Show in Lawrence, KS. Eric ended
up leaving the band to pursue other interests.
About a year
later I left the band feeling burned out and wanting nothing to
do with the music scene. I didn't start to get the drive back until
after four months had passed. At this time in February 1999 I joined
up with Eric again and went back to Entry
Level Position. I done the two band thing for about a
year and have now left Entry Level Position
In 2000 to pursue my place in PUSHT.
