THE OPENING OF THE POLICE MEDICINE COMPARTMENT
in The Police Central Hospital R.S SUKANTO

The Police Medicine activities related to medical treatments are carried out at a special compartment in the Police Hospitals which is called The Police Medicine Compartement.
The first Police Medicine Compartment was opened in The Police Central Hospital R.S SUKANTO by the Chief of Indonesian Police General (Pol) Drs. Rusdihardjo, July 25, 2000. This compartment is meant to be the prototype of other Police Medicine Compartments which will be built in the Police Hospitals throughout Indonesia.

This special compartment was created by the Indonesian Police Medical and Health Services based on the growing attention of the Indonesian National Police on the Human Rights affair which often times related to the Police duties.

Target.

The target of the Police Medicine Compartement are:

  1. Victims of abuse/ violence especially women and children.
  2. Drug abuse patients.
  3. Criminals who need medical treatments.

Based on the treatments given the Police Medicine Compartement is divided into 3 units which are:

1. Clinical Forensic Medicine Unit which has 3 sub units:
  • The Women and Children Victims of Abuse Medical Care Sub Unit
  • The Victims of Criminal Conducts Medical Care Sub Unit
  • Drug Abuse Patient Care Sub Unit
  • Psychiatry Forensic Sub Unit.
