A
record 27 people met at Beaudesert to do this walk. Carpooling was
necessary as there is only limited parking at the Mt Maroon start off
point we dove off to the base of Mt Maroon.
After
walking up the steep north-east ridge we had morning tea near a rocky
outcrop which gave magnificent views of the surrounds. We contoured
round to the right to get to a deep gully which leads to the summit
plateau. Some were quicker than others but we all rejoined on the
summit plateau. It was then a straightforward walk to the summit proper.
All enjoyed a long lunch and the views of Mt Barney before heading back
to the cars and afternoon tea in Beaudesert.
Thanks
to all who came and shared the
experience. Richard
