The king listened to his jokes and laughed.
Once Gopal met the king in the morning. He said, ''Good
morning, Your Majesty !". The King said, "Good
Morning. Where are you going Gopal ? "To the temple, my
lord." replied Gopal. The king went to his garden for a
walk. There was a stone on the ground. The king fell and hurt
his toe. He was angry. He said, "I saw Gopal's face early
in the morning and I hurt my toe. Go and bring him to the
court."
The soldiers brought Gopal before the king. The king said,
"I saw your face in the morning and I hurt my toe."
Then he said to the soldiers, "Take him to prison."
Gopal not say anything. He looked at the ceiling. The king
said, "What are you thinking ? " Gopal said
"Excuse me, Your Majestry ! You saw my face in the

It
was very dark forest but during summer no greenery was seen
there. A fox lived in that forest. On a hot day he fell
thirsty and ran up and down in search of water. At last, he
came to a shallow well where the water was quite close to its
brim. The fox was so thirsty thate he could not wait and think
anything and at once jumped into the well. He drank water and
quenched his thirst. He found the water sweet but when he
tried to jump out of the well, he realized his folly that he
had run the risk of life as to out of the well was next
to impossible. The fox had commited great mistake.
At that time, the fox noticed a goat peeping into the well.
The fox knew very well that the goat was foolish. The clever
fox made a plan to get out of the danger. He invited the goat
into the well. The asked him what the fox was doing there. The
cunning fox replied that the water of the well was entirely
sweet. He added that the water was just like the elixir. He
told that goat to jump into well and to enjoy the sweet water.
But as soon as the goat jumped into the well, the fox got on
its back and in the next moment he was out of the well. Now
the goat realised her folly. She had jumped just of
temptation. She remained in the well tossing up and down and
repenting on her folly.
