Xian has one of China's ancient city wall that is complete and still standing today.
The city's "downtown" area is located within this city wall. Each time you need to
travel from the suburbs, you will need to drive through entrances of the wall. The
ancient urban design is still visible today. Although the city wall is not fully
openned to the public, the main entrance is still openned to visitors.
There are holes along the walls and guess what it is used for? It is actually a
security design for soldiers who are on duty to stand at a safe position while
monitoring the enemies' movements. The soldier would stand a few meters away from
the hole and watches enemies' activities through these holes. By doing so, the
soldier would not be hit by enemy's arrow while on duty.

The second picture from the left is a plaza viewing from the drum tower. Beneath
this plaza is an indoor mall with supermarkets and other shops!

The first picture on the left is a bottle from the New Stone age (6,000 years ago). It's excavated
from the "Banpo Site", located near Xian. The amazing thing about this bottle that it uses the
centre of gravity to get the water from the river. After the water flows into the bottle, it will
tilt upright! It's quite amazing! There are other things excavated from the site, but this is
the most interesting one to me.
The second photo is a sign posted along the main streets of Xian. It says "Modern Streets.
Smoking is prohibited". It's definitely one of those things you won't see in any other places!
The third photo from the left is a ticekt I saved when going to the "Hua Qing Hol Spring".
