BECAUSE YOU'RE MINE
I sit here broken - only half a man inside
And I could flood the deserts with the tears I've cried
No longer feeling any sense of worth or pride
But still you make my life worth living
My hopes and dreams are now a figment of the past
Karmic snake eyes glare up from the dice I've cast
I'll stake no wager on how long my life will last
But you still give me all worth giving
The tears that sting my eyes
Come as I realize
In you I've found the prize
That makes this hellish life sublime
Through days so full of strife
Though I may curse my life
I've heaven for my wife
I am complete because you're mine.

Winter songs dance from your tongue
And kisses chill ease my sorrow
Anguish slain - once more I'm young
And with bright eyes seek tomorrow
Gentle hands of autumn mist
Cool fever ravaged flesh
And shattered lips with blisters kissed
Are with your frost enmeshed
Thunderous beats my heart's cold fire
With thoughts of you new-born
And ensorcelled am I by desire
When I feel your passion's storm

These roses two I give to you
In the spirit of romance
My love they send, lover and friend
With small extravagance
White hope I feel - true and real
When you are by my side
The strength you give makes me live
My love I cannot hide
The other rose tradition knows
Is a lover's passion red
The song of our heart is a work of art
I'll love even after I am dead.

The weight of melancholia drags deep my weary soul
A rough and pitted stone enshrouds my heart
The tortures of the past now take their toll
And the thought of life prolonged tears me apart
But then I see a silver light - a blinding beacon burning bright
So grand a blaze it steals my sight - and I no longer see my scars
Mortal with an angel true inside - with satin silver pinions spread so wide
No choice for sorrow save to hide - and twist in torment at the love that's ours
My angel wounded by my careless thrashing claw
Unthinking did I dim my true love's glow
Never to be mended I cry into this flaw
For my love for her she will never know
Though her illumination sets me free - the wounds I can once more see
My angel can't believe in me - and knowing that just twists the knife
Her doubt is founded to be just - to win her back I'll fight - I must
Can there be love when there's no trust - and without love what good is life
My angel marionette with severed strings of gold
My heart and soul I freely give to you
Though bitter sagas have of late been told
Unconditionally - for you - my love is true
My golden lady soft and sweet - for you alone does my heart beat
Never will we know defeat - while we see through love's bright eyes
If you will give new trust a chance - I'll sweep you up in my dark dance
And revel in renewed romance - a contest won my heart's the prize

Silver Roses

My soul is a garden
The soil, once fertile
Of late is laden with the stones
Of hard tempered emotions

The seasons know no boundaries of time
Winter following spring
Following winter
A day or a year between

In the winter of sorrows
Black lilies grow thick
Laden with venomed thorns
So easily do they bite and poke

In my autumn of rebirth
What a curious creature am I
When nature is dying I am alive
With wild cherry and thyme

In the summer, foul season of sun
My garden is a bit wilted
But there grows still the sunflower
Ever aware of the sun's path

But in the spring of my soul
There is a silver rose
It is the flower that flourishes always
But is born anew in each of my springs

My silver rose
Your love
My love for you
It is a celestial flower with no equal

It can never die
Being above such mortal concepts
It's thorns have dug deep
Into my heart and soul

I thank you for that rose
My Love, my lover,
My life
My friend, my light
My blessed wife

As I sit lost in thought
I'm not really lost
I'm watching my Lady
As she frolics in my memories
Woven together by the fates
From the silks and shadows
Of love and beauty
My Lady is my life
Her tears are acid on my soul
Her laughter heals my wounds
All that I am I owe to her
And to her I give my life

"Life is short and sharp", much like a dagger
The statement is true
But that fickle force called life
Can be sweet also - as the blood drawn by the blade
In the end, your life is all you have
The only thing you can truly call your own
Your life - and your shadow knight I
Follow my childish lead
Marionette
And I'll lead you through my darkling dance
Forever
The insane intricacies of the night
'Wouldst thou walk in shadows with me'
The words are deeper than that
Do you believe?
Do you trust - can you?
Will you be my darkling bride?
Twilight lover?
Or mayhaps a wife
Of mortal stature
It matters not
Sweet Marionette
If you will just be with me and make me proud, happy -
Whole
We will twist reality
Fact will be what we choose
I smile an immortal smile
Because you are beside me
In my dreams
Forever
"Short and sharp"

To find the proper words to express my love for you
I would need the wisdom of eternity
To show emotion enough to match my desire for you
I would need the heart of life itself
My soul is here should yours grow weak
My flesh and blood are yours to command
Let my arms shield your delicate form
From the chill winds of malice
My lips will weave a cloak of kisses and promises
To put your gossymer soul at ease.
I love you, Marionette
And I always will

I hear the Marionette whisper my name
As butterfly songs inspire deadly dances
Shattered secrets release a lethal game
Who can survive darkling romances
Shimmer, my sire, can you stop the dreams
Blood and fire don't inspire such screams
A streak of silver mirth planted the doubt
What are the answers, where is the key
By the fangs of Morphos - which way is out
I need to be hers - I need to be free
Beautiful memories I pray to forget
I love you - Little Marionette
The sweetest venom tears at my veins
My heart sings a shattered song
All my soul isn't worth the pain
I have done an unforgivable wrong
My fragile Marionette of tempered steel
The wounds I cause may never heal
Cards arcane and the mystic arts
Are but tools to find the truth
What care they for the tears of hearts
Fate has imposed upon our youth
Inadvertantly, my darkling dance may - to you - be a threat
But remember that I love you, my lovely little Marionette.

I write to my sweet Marionette
With pretty words of love
And with the love that you beget
We can reach the stars above
Ignore the blades of jealousy
And deeds misunderstood
We are not too blind to see
These things can bring no good
Extinguish all your thoughts of sorrow
Let me see your silver smile.
Forget the past - look to tomorrow
Enjoy my love a while
As I struggle through the great rat race
All I need is this:
The golden warmth of your embrace
The sweet sting of your kiss
Smile sweetly little Marionette
My love for you is strong
Things might make you feel upset
But I'll never do you wrong.

You picked me up when I was down
Though you probably didn't know it
You took away my cause to frown
And I tried not to show it
To be held is what I was sorely needing
With subtle care you stopped my soul from bleeding
You removed a thousand bitter tears
May you never know your deepest fears - I'll help.

You have been my life
For all my life
Before we ever met
I knew you
In my heart
If I live to see the sun burn out
I will never this love again
You, my love
Always
Through the thousand hells
We have created
We persevere
In each other's arms
Forever
If I have told you
I love you
Then I haven't told how much I really
Love you
I can't
No words will do my love justice
Forgive me, my wife
For my frequent ignorance
Insensitivity
And childishness
I am yours, Love
Forever
Forever

ROSES for my Lady of Silver and Gold

Roses red with heartblood at your feet are laid
What greater gift was ever given to a mortal maid
My soul was a dark and bitter pit in the days before your song
An empty vessel - flawed though I knew not what was wrong
Then silver robed and effervescent you danced into my void
A warm, bright light in my life dark and paranoid
A word of darkness - just a hint at my own song of blood
By a look provoked my secrets I revealed in a maddened flood
An oath, a curse, a promise of love so fleeting
Yet bound for all eternity from the instant of our meeting
What prophet bard could weave such a shattered tale
Of a mortal woman's love for one who lives in shifting veils
So in a moment red with passion's blinding heat
Did I give to you my greatest gift, life's roses red and sweet
Though it reeked of fables fey untrue
I gave the Darkling gift to you
Faith or pathos drove you to claim my words as truth
Though too often denied are your paths forged by blood and tooth
No matter, Love, for the gift was given free
But know, Dear one, that the blood sings true for me
And scorn not my heartblood roses that you now possess
But rather feel them in your veins as my eternal caress

For You

Gods and demons would fall to my blade
I would rewrite laws immortals made
I would see dark oaths betrayed
For you

I would give my blood and bone
Swear you'll never stand alone
Build of human souls a throne
For you

I would venture to a dragon's lair
To pluck a flower for your hair
To show without a doubt I care
For you

Through the razor shards of life I crawl
My back against a blazing wall
In hellish stance I bear it all
For you

I would bear each deadly sin
Take on all odds and swear to win
Taste the wyrm's dark kiss - and grin
For you

Remember this, my Darkling wife
If need be I would feel the knife
And willingly give up my life
For you

Would you like to open the wooden box now?
