THE SONG OF THE UNICORNRead the unicorn storiesThe tales do you no justice and your magic stands alone No man may control you for your soul remains your own With hooves and horn of silver and the purest snowy mane The mountains all should crumble before your heart knows pain Though mortals may still harm you in your human fleshly form Your inner self is magic pure - your soul cries Unicorn My wishes are pathetic and my bitter, bloody tears so lame To think that I have hurt you causes me no end of pain Your kind has always danced on aether winds that heal Your heart is softest velvet yet your soul is strong as steel Youth turns to you for inspiration when all other hope is past So you must stay strong for them, for surely you're the last Though mortals do not know that you are the keeper of the song All children would feel the pain if the Unicorn were gone As Unicorn you also wear the wolfen pelt of inky black And though it may contain just one, you are protected by the pack I would be your champion, if you'll have me, Lady dear And no matter where I am - if you need me I am near So keep your grace and beauty even as you keep your sorrow And remember you are Unicorn as you dance into tomorrow
THE DANCE GOES ON There are children slaying children in the darkened city streets There are people who will rape and kill until their last heartbeat Man tries to make things right but he soon admits defeat Yet through it all the dance goes on Behind a veil of myth is a realm that man forgot And the children will not find it, unless they all are taught No one will show the children how to unravel magic's knot Even so, the dance goes on All can see the power of the magic silver dance When the child who is alone feels the sweet sting of romance And though they fear rejection - still they take the chance Proof that the dance goes on When life is going sour and nothing but doom is in sight And despite its velvet darkness, there's no comfort in the night Through the worst of times hope is always burning bright Just because the dance goes on Where pixies dance and frolic and hold court from flower petal thrones Where legends all come true - from princely frogs to swords in stones Where elfin magic is so strong you can feel it in your bones This is where the dance goes on Hidden deep inside the lovely shelter of a fleshly human form The most beautiful of souls surrounded by a raging storm Herein lies the power man once knew as: Unicorn Because of her the dance goes on
SILVER HOOVED DANCER On rainbow bridges and roads of mists so chill I watch enthralled - inspired by magic romance Her spins and leaps weave brightest thrills I'm caught up in her silver-hooved dance Through a haze of love I see her silhouette She banishes all thoughts tragic With faerie dips and pixie pirouettes She weaves a silver magic A silver spire betwixt crystal eyes and snowy mane She mesmerizes my soul into a trance The beauty of her near drives me insane I truly miss her silver-hooved dance Blessed lady and wielder of unknown power I shall eternally champion your cause For dark fangs always guard those brightest flowers 'Tis one of the oldest laws For the wolf must always serve the Unicorn I pledge my tooth and blood - give me the chance And I'll see you through the roughest storms Just to see your silver-hooved dance Time will surely give surcease to sorrow And when you have need of me, I'm near Promise we'll always have one more tomorrow For losing you is a dreaded fear Unicorn you are, though your blood still knows the hunt Your cub-colts must growl as well as prance I'll teach them the wolf ways if you want But you must teach them your silver-hooved dance
THE UNICORN'S TRAGEDY Once her magic faltered, dragged by a human to the altar And forced into bit and halter - tack and harness for her soul Rescued by the dark lupine, she left the misery behind And let her magic start to shine - a mirror of her new control Spinning round - pulses pound, a bright new love was found With magic crowned - and loving sounds - what could bring her down Her alucorn was shining with the new love she was finding Her tangled mane unwinding - the wolf made her his wife Pledged to her his blood and claws - despite his deadly flaws He would not break his vows and laws - to her he pledged his life Troubles brewed - something new, inside him something grew What to do - no one knew, the wolf's dark side was shining through A dragon dark and foul, stole the dark wolf's cheery howl And changed her whinny to a growl - she tried to save her wolfin man She had to fight the dragon's storm with her fragile silver horn So this fair, brave Unicorn prepared to make her final stand The wolf's rage set the stage - a dread decision made The card played turned the page for the son of Silvermage He began to lose control of the frenzy in his soul It began to take its toll - and the Unicorn felt pain As his rage began to burn, he knew things must take a turn He must leave to fight the wyrm before it drove him quite insane So in the dead of night he sought to make things right, though it drove him mad with fright Thought tears stole his sight he saw the Unicorn so bright and it gave him strength to fight Now her life has changed and though she tries to fight the pain The dragon's poison fouls her veins - but the Unicorn is strong And though her soul knows icy fire and she has lost her heart's desire She has the love of elves and wolves and vampire - and they'll help her sing her song
