That woman is not a goldrider, Vainith warned dryly as Apollo brought the same woman back to their weyr for yet another night.

That doesn't matter, Apollo told him. I agree with only catching golds, greens aren't worth the trouble, but I won't limit myself to goldriders. All women deserve a chance to be with a man as incredibly good looking as I am.

Sevti smiled up at him. "Talking to that beautiful dragon of yours again?"

Nevermind. I like her.

Apollo planted a kiss on her forehead. "Of course. He likes you a lot, you know. You're the first girlfriend I've had that he approves of."

Sevti snuggled into his arms. "Well, I'm glad he approves. You both certainly live up to your names. What did you say yours meant? In Greek or something?"

"Manly beauty," Apollo told her proudly. "My parents took one look at me and said 'that baby is so incredibly good looking we have to give him a name that means it'!"

"You remember this?" Sevti chuckled.

"No," Apollo admitted. "But I'm sure that's what they did."

"Do you know what I heard today?" Sevti asked between kisses as they climbed into bed.

Apollo paused for a moment. "What?"

"All the participants in Jazrae's gold Nynaeveth's flight have to have weyrmates," Sevti began, pausing for a kiss.

"So?" Apollo asked.

"Well, you're always saying how Vainith wants to catch a gold," she continued. "So why not sign him up?"

Apollo, you may never leave this woman, Vainith told his rider. I don't care how many golds I catch, keep her.

Apollo chuckled. "Vainith's very enthusiastic. But what happens when he catches her?"

Sevti smiled and kissed him soundly to demonstrate. "She gets her weyrmate, and I get you. It'll be fun."

For all of us, Vainith added from his couch.
