| "Tapu" areas (restricted areas) are where filming occurs on Nuku Haiva. Locations for production camps, tribal council, and both tribal camps have been discovered. |
| Locations for the initial two camp sites have been confirmed to be in the extreme southwest point of Nuku Haiva. Hakaui valley continues on to the Viapo waterfall, the worls'd third highest. |
