Principal Durst was once a new teacher at Blake Holsey High 25 years ago (1977). She has now been principal of the school for the last 10 years. She attempts to keep the hopes of the students high but has a watchful eye on the science club. While she would deny it, she knows what is wrong with Blake Holsey High. Covering up the secret brings her to question her role at the school from time to time.
Principal Durst loves Romeo and Juliet.

In the first season, Principal Durst can be found rules lawyering and often butting heads with Josie Trent. She also has to deal with issues of the school, like when an inspector arrived at Blake Holsey High for unknown reasons.
Principal Durst often struggles with her purpose at the school. She feels trapped with Victor Pearson keeping her in the dark and even threatening her job at one point. Despite this, she continues to work with him, clinging to the rational that she is doing it for the good of the students who she really does care for. She knows the secret of Blake Holsey High and covers up the events. Whenever something goes awry, she is always there to make the announcement "There is nothing wrong with Blake Holsey High.
In season two, Principal Durst falls out of the spotlight but still can be found making life difficult for the Science Club whenever possible.
In season three, Principal Durst appears in an encouraging attitude, putting the "pal" in principal, whenever she is seen. We learn that she has quite the rebellious streak. She even learns to accept Josie's way of thinking and offers Josie alternative curriculum for learning.

In the mirror!universe, Principal Durst is like a guardian of the students; she rushes to help Corrine not get expelled from the school. She has a bounce when she walks which almost makes her seem like she is a fairy.
