EarthCulture Sues Over Fiberboard Mill!

EarthCulture is a nonprofit organization promoting a sustainable Earth. We work for livable cities, diverse wilderness areas, and the rights of all life through education and nonviolent direct action.

EarthCulture was started in 1995 by a small group of activists working on tropical rainforest issues. Over the years, we have continued to keep forest defense as our primary focus, but are involved in other campaigns, and are constantly looking for new ones- particularly in our native Southeast United States. Please get in touch if you have any suggestions.

We are mainly involved in market-based campaigns aimed at changing American purchasing habits. It is noble to fight deforestation by physically blocking logging operations or working through legal channels to stop timber sales, but ultimately, what we buy drives the destruction of ecosystems. We are asking consumers to reduce their consumption of oil, gold, coffee, bananas, beef, wood products like mahogany, teak, redwood, and paper products, and other items which have a high ecological cost.

Please take a look at our updated website and check out what we are involved with. If you like what you see, you can send us a tax-deductible donation or contact us for more information on how to get involved in your area. We are always looking for people everywhere interested in helping organize a demonstration, informational table, fundraiser, or even an EarthCulture chapter, please get in touch with us.
