Help Our Environment

Things that we can all do or advocate to help to
improve our environment:
  - Recycle Paper and Other Materials. - Paper and cardboard make up a very high percentage of wastes that
now go to landfills. Reuse of used paper products would reduce the demand for timber.
Numerous other materials can be recycled, including plastics, glass, and metals. Recycling
of plastics will reduce the rate of depletion of hydrocarbons, the source material for
    plastics.

  - Conserve Use of Oil. - Petroleum is a limited resource. Use of oil-based products such as
gasoline and heating oil should be reduced to extend the life of our limited oil reserves.

  - Conserve Use of Electricity. - Especially where limited resources such as coal, oil, and natural
gas are used to generate electricity, the use of electricity should be conserved.

  - Conserve Water - Reduce the use of water. In many areas this prescious resource has
been severely affected by groundwater pollution. This can include the use of water saving
    plumbing fixtures in our homes.

  - Responsible Disposal of Wastes including hazardous and toxic substances. This includes the disposal
of many household substances including cleaners, paint, and motor oil.

  - Do Not Use CFCs. - Instead use alternate aerosol products, if necessary, or use other
methods to spray or disperse cleaners, insecticides, and various other substances.
Chloro-fluorocarbons (CFCs) are believed to be responsible for the depletion of the
    Earth's protective ozone layer.

  - Reduce Atmospheric Emissions. - Emissions from burning fuel and chemicals released by industry
pollute the atmosphere. We all breathe the air. Lets minimize emissions to maximize the
    Earth's air quality!
