Although the Blue-faced parrot Finch is the most commonly kept species of Parrot Finch, it is still not as popular as other tropical finches (i.e. - the Gouldian). The genetic pool is therefore not as large as it should be and the avicultualist is wise to ensure the genetic diversity of his/her stock.
This is a very active species that requires adequate flying space to maintain good body condition.
This lively finch enjoys eating a variety of foods.
